Terry, Graham, Steve
We had talked about doing some Age of Eagles 15mm Napoleonics on the August all dayer.
Who is still up for it ?
Would suggest British vs. French 1815. If there is interest, let me know roughly what fiogures you have and I can start thinking about a scenario. Thanks Martyn

Thanks for the invite I would like to be involved, not sure how many stands I have for AOE, I know I did enough for the Quatra Bas scenario in the rule book.

Right chaps, we have six players - Terry, Steve, Graham, Barry, me and my mate Jon.
I have selected the Battle if Toulouse 1814 scenario. Steve - if you have any Spanish and/or Portugeuse, that would be helpful, if not we shall just have to fill in with British.
There are 6 slots in the scenario, we need players for: Wellington; Hill & Friere, Beresford, Soult (French C-in-C) and one corps commander, Reille, Clauzel and D'Erlon.
*Hill's is effectively an independent command in this scenario whilst Picton reports directly to Wellington. So Hill and the Spaniard Friere will make a reasonable combined command for one player.
We'll need the following BASES (of 2-4 figs a base):
FRENCH: 105 infantry (including 14 command bases) 15 LC (including 2 command bases) 11 guns (including 1 horse artillery) 1 base of engineers 1 Army command base 2 Corps command bases 8 divisional command bases
BRITISH ALLIED:
57 British infantry bases (including 11 command bases) 35 Portuguese binfantry bases (including 6 command bases) 27 Spanish infantry bases (ncluding 3 command bases) 6 British guns (inc 2 horse art) 1 Portuguese gun 2 Spanish guns 1 Royal Engineers base 1 army cmdr base 2 Corp commander bases 2 British Corps Commander bases 1 Spanish Corps Commander base 5 British divisional commander bases 1 Spanish divisional commander base 1 Portuguese divisional commander base

I have couple of units on Portugese infantry (about 20 stands 3 men per stand) and a similar amount of cacadores (portugese LI). I do not have any Spanish (why would anyone have any?) but Terry suggested we could use some on my White coated Austrians?
I will bring my british and portuguese but not the austrians unless someone tells me otherwise.

Terry, Graham, Steve & Barry
I have 64 stands of British infantry - including 10 command stands, 34 stands ov cavalry (all British cavalry is classed as heavy inthis scenario), 9 guns. 4 div commanders and 1 Corps commander.
Steve - if you can bring some Austrians to fill in as Spanish that would be helpful, thanks.
Anyone got any blank stick labels for brigade stats ?
BTW, my mate Jon is not coming now, so we have a spare place if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the game yesterday chaps, I had fun. We must do it again some time.
I have been thinking about what the French could have done, if anything, to improve their chances.
I wonder if Graham's command could have retreated across the river and used a couple of brigades and guns to defend the bridge while the rest reinforced the defence against Barry's thrust across the canal ? The river was unfordable, so the attackers could only bring one brigade in column and a maximum of 3 guns at medium range to bear at any one time. A couple of reasonably sited guns and a bit of luck would keep the attacker on the far side of the river. The French suffered by having too little cavalry and the columnar infantry fire power was half that of the British and Portuguese Impulse infantry at close range.
If we played the scenario again, I think I would give the British a time dead-line by which to clear the ridge and/or occupy the town.
