After emailing, with a nice prompt reply...here is some more info on this event....
Hi yes your right there is no info at the moment as we are still putting the rules pack together tickets will go on general sale 11th August via paypal the points will be as follows:- 1500pts 40K 5th edition 2000pts WHFB 7th edition (pitched battles) 3000pts Epic Blood Bowl (living Rulebook 5) WAB 2000pts
Armies are to be selected from the WAB rulebook (latest version), Chariot Wars, Alexander the Great, El Cid, Shieldwall, Fall of the West, Armies of Chivalry, Spartacus, Byzantium Beyond The Golden Gate, Hannibal and The Punic Wars, Vlad the Impaler, Art of War or Age of Arthur. The errata in Armies of Chivalry will also be used.
This will be the 1st time we have run WAB at Open War so we have inlisted the help of one of the regular players at the club to orginise this part of the event.
There will be a trophie for 1st place and best army (not best painted) in each system. Framed certificates for 2nd, 3rd and last place. there will also be a number of prizes raffled of during the day and the team winners get £150 to donate to a charity of there choice. Slaughter award for the fastest massacure of the day and a best overall army of the event.
A hot lunch and hot pudding are included in the price but drink will be extra so cash will be needed on the day.
hope thats a bit more info for you to pass on. hopefully there will be some info on the web site in the coming weeks. this event tends to sell out fast and we have to turn people away every time so if your guys are up for it then id suggest get in quick for 40k, WHFB & BB dont know how WAB will go as its the 1st outing.
If you need any further info then please drop me a line.
Kind regards

I could be up for this. Their rules pack is due to be published on their website on Aug 4th, which I'll take a look at before deciding.
Anybody else?

I'm pretty busy in October, but will be going to Heat 2 of the Warhammer GT on the 1st/2nd November so it'd be nice to use it for some last minute tournament practice. I'll confirm for definite if I can or can't in the next couple of weeks.

Failing that, I'd be happy to give you some 2000 pt test games if you'd like. I'm sure it will be loads of fun replicating some of the bent armies you're likely to meet at the GT cheese-fest :-)

Don't know. I'll wait to read the rules pack and see what I fancy. WAB or WHFB most likely - if I can make it.

Whether we are going to this tournament or not I'd like to get some competitive Warhammer games in then anyway. It's the 40k GT Heat 3 on Nov 22nd/23rd as well so I should be well and truely competitive wargamed out by the end of the Year!
