I am now at home. But am not allowed to drive. If there is anyone who can give me a lift on Monday for the AGM that will be great!

Since I'm starting in Rushden (not to far from Irthlingborough) I can come and pick you up Dave if you want.
You'll just need to let me know exactly where you live. I'm fairly sure you've got my mobile no, if so text me your postcode and I can work out where I'm going via Google maps or something.

A good AGM last night. I am using my convalescent time to good use, and acting on some of the points we talked about.
Now on the Bovingdon Tank Museum trip. It can be arranged in advance to have group tickets with a group of 10 or more. this would be £8 per person. I am looking at hiring a 24 seat coach, and obviously a driver (car licences only cover minibuses to 16 seats) the first company I have looked at will cost £630 to book for a 7 am till 7pm booking this with the cost of entry to Bovingdon is about £34.25 per head, assuming we fill the 24 seat coach. Do we want to throw an invitation out to our good friends at Rushden club if they would like to come in on this trip? Carl, would the Phoenix lads be interested?

Souls coaches can do a 26 seater for £549, which including the group entry to the museum is in the vicinity of £29.12 per head, assuming we fill all seats. This looks to be the best deal for a coach with driver exceeding what we can do driving ourselves....which is more per head with multiple vehicles, as coaches park free, multiple fuel costs etc..and the largest seater we can drive ourselves is 15, as I said. If the club put in a subsidy of around £100 this would bring the cost to some thing like £25 per head including entry. All this assumes a full bus.Now for travel all the way down and back, plus reduced entry to the premier tank museum, possably in europe, AND a wargames show I think is pretty good! I will ask for confirmed commitments from members to the trip based on these costings please so we can see the viability. If we have any Rushden Phoenix members wanting to come we would of course not subsidise thier trip with BGA funds.

Dave, the hire period sounds a little short, I would imagine that by coach you would be looking at a 3.5-4.0 hour run which is going to give you only 4 - 5 hours on site?

I was working on a 3 hour trip there, but yes we could work on leaving at 7am and getting back at 8 pm, this will put a bit on to the costs of course, may be a couple of quid a head

Carl, this is still in the planing stage...in principle are people interested? potentially costs are in the region of £25 - £35 per head, including entry to the museum.
