Investigating the net I stumbled upon the rules, in French! though. Don't speak French but can make qualified guesses.
- Your posse consists of 5-8 figures. - Construct the posse of $200. - Each posse has an appointed Leader, with possibilites to have up to 2 second in commands (?). And henchmen. - You choose between troop type Cowboys, Lawmen or Outlaws. - Obviously equipment (guns) cost extra and horses.
Didn't have time to do more than skim through the rules. Will keep you updated.

Just got back and the Rulebook is here!
I'll give it a read through and then post up the basics later tonight.
EDIT: I've run out of awakeness so I'll finish it up tomorrow. Looks like good fun though. Would be great to get a campaign going later on if there are a few interested parties.

I too purchased the Wild West rules from the Cranfield shop, on Saturday. I have dug out my old gunfighters too. They were looking thier age, so gave a fresh lick of paint, and re based them. The rules look to be standard GW fare, and are apparently based on the Lord of the Rings system. If you guys are up for it, we could have a game next week (so not tomorrow, next Monday) maybe look at the club's wild west terrain. Not sure if it is in scale, but there are other bldgs that will do, that I have. For those interested, there were 2 sets of the EM4 wild west mini's in Cranfield shop, they are pre painted, and are about £11 so just over £2 per mini. ;D Dave

I'm not sure if I'll be ready by next Monday, but possibly. I've worked out a 9 man Lawmen Posse, the models for which should set me back £16.50 - so money shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Not having ever properly painted minatures it might take me a while before I get them looking fancy - but if people don't mind me playing with unpainted stuff then I can be up and running within the next 2 weeks.
EDIT: I've just remembered that the Runequest RP will be on that Monday so I definitely won't be able to play then.

Hi Joe
Glad you remembered the RQ, cos I'd quite like to give the Wild West a shot (excuse the pun) as well
Any excuse for a bit of mindless violence and general mayhem is fine by me

I'm much in the same boat mate, don't get paid until 31/7 and Runequest on Monday 4/8. With a bit of luck though I'll have all the stuff ready for the second Sunday 10/8.
I have set my eyes on the Black Scorpion figures and won't mind playing Outlaws at all, even got a name for the posse, Hex's Harrowers (or Harbingers) ;D
I've never played table-top wargames before and is quite new to the whole painting business, but will give it a try. Would like my guys to look their best of course.

Just to whet the whistles a bit more!! If this takes off maybe we could get some nice scenery to use in our games. Check out www.hovelsltd.co.uk/wildwest.htmlDrool Drool! maybe persuade our illustrious treasurer to part with some club cash for this! Dave

This is a nice official strategy article: www.warhammer-historical.com/articles/low-tactics/low-tactics1.asp--------- Those scenery bits look very nice! It's be nice to get some flot topped building as well so my vigilantes can camp up there with their rifles . We'll see how it goes though. Dixon Miniatures also make a nice looking stagecoach.
