Mantic games are launching their SF game Warpath on the 12th Nov. Does anyone fancy going to the event? The cost is £5 singly, or there are special discounts for group or even club tickets. It is at their headquarters in Nottingham. See details at: www.manticgames.com/Shop-Home/Tickets.html?utm_source=Mantic+Games+Newsletter&utm_campaign=6ad6108c89-Mantic_Games_Newsletter_105&utm_medium=emailThere will be demo games, a chance to chat to the author Alessio Cavatorre of LOTR and Warhammer design fame and a chance to see the new figures (and buy them if you wish). For those who don't know, Mantic released Kings of War two years ago and are ran by Ronnie Renton, ex GW sales manager. Going from strength to strength their fantasy miniatures look good and are good value.

I haven't jumped on the mantic bandwagon myself. At present am OK with 40K, although there is another edition coming out next year, so if GW manage to piss me off with that like they did with 8th Fantasy, I will probably look to Tomorrows War by Osprey/Ambush Alley games. It is out soon and is more hard sci fi than fantasy sci fi as GW do it. Uses similar systems to Force on Force and Ambush Z, which are great! Dave

I've made use of some Mantic stuff here and there. Just added a considerable number of Ghouls to my VC with their models. I've been tempted to attend some of the events they've done in the past. Sci-fi isn't my main interest but if it's convenient nearer to the time I might be interested.

I would have been interested in a trip to see what the fuss was about at Mantic HQ, however it clashes with the start of classes. The Forgefather (Squats/Demiurg to the 40k crowd) and Ork-alike minis (Raiders, I think they're called) look good. The quality seems on a par with GW, and maybe even - dare one say it - old school Rackham quality before they switched to pre-painted minis.
I am not a Squats fanatic by any means, but those Forgefather minis have me wanting to paint some up on the basis of their cigar chewing, armour-plated, hand cannon-wielding looks!

Yeah, I must admit, I do like the minis more than the KoW minis and they do look to rival GW. They have definately gone for a more beefy, 'darker' look.
I think I will get myself a ticket and go anyway, so if anyone wants to jump in a cadge a lift closer to the time that is cool.
