Hi All Its time to consider ideas for a game for 2013 I have already had one inquiry asking if we would like to be considered for Colours, and what our game will be. So does anyone have ideas? But please remember we need to try and base it around something that we have access to figures for. The club usually helps with terrain but we don't really have the funds for figures.

Good idea!
Well there is so much: - Towton - Bosworth especially now that our true monach has been found!
Don't know if we have the figs for this?
- 28mm WW2 - some sort of Samurai game - castle seige? - how about a massive Star Wars X-Wing game? Flying through the Death Star is Return of the Jedi would be good! Id be happy to make said Death Star for you!!!

Just thinking out loud here... How about something out of the ordinary for the club? Zombie fighting, a Fallout game (with vehicles , something in the Pulp genre (with Heroes, Mad Scientists and Vile Villains!!!), superheroes... Yes, I know it's stuff closer to my heart, but a) I've never been to any of these shows and b) how often do these types feature on these shows? My thruppence worth, Legionnaire.

Why don't we do something different? Instead of one huge game with vast numbers of figures, that we'll never finish, why not do a couple of smaller games? Come to think of it , why not do different games on the different days? Thoughts chaps?

That is exactly what Ove has suggested. It also takes us back to the sort of games that this club did 20 years when we were THE most successful club at Salute for around 5 years.

All ideas welcome as it could lead to an interesting variant. There is already a very popular participation game doing the rounds which is based on stopping the zombies in a moderb city landscape - can't remember which clud does it.
Westwind normally also have a game based on their Empire of the Dead range. A blend of gothic horror and steam punk!!

Another idea, some people know what's doing the rounds, maybe we should do something... different *gasp*. We could do a Terminator style game, maybe superheroes vs supervillains a Spaghetti Western-style game maybe.
Only friendly suggestions, but I think they're worth considering. After all, the reason I play is to have fun (and escape boring reality for a moment or two ;D)

I have 1 not-Terminator in metal skeleton with minigun and a couple of cyborgs (Neuroshima Borgo's), several modern/ near future adventurers/ soldiers (EM-4, Hasslefree, Reaper Chronoscope), all 28mm.
I also have a few diecast vehicles and a couple of bike riders (males and females from Westwind Road Wars).

Games Workshop's Necrons look very much like terminators. Might need to change the guns, file off the egyptian detailing on the chest and (perhaps) replace the head with a more human-shaped skull, but as a base they're very close. www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=99120110001The image there doesn't really do their T-800 potential justice as GW always builds them hunched over, but it is possible to assemble them stood up straight, Arnie-style.
