Its 1983 and the Soviet Union and it's Warpac allies have launched a surprise attack across the West German border.
Fighting has been going on for 4 days - here we will see if the British 1st Armoured Div can halt the Soviet 3rd Shock Army!

The Soviet OMG - that's Operational Manouever Group - has punched through NATO lines and is racing for Hanover. The British have managed to scrape together a blocking force - should be interesting to see if the Brits can eliminate the threat!

The killing ground has been set up!
Can the Soviets smash through the patched together British defence and reach the autobahn that leads to Hanover?

The 2nd Leutenant stared at the tear on his left thigh. Realising the swooning he felt was due to the wound and his blood lose, he used the side of the shattered Marder APC to lean on. Taking the field telephone from the lance jack, he spoke to corp HQ, -
Yes, they just barrelled through us - didnt stop ... no, id say at least 15 tanks with apcs, recon, spg's, flak.
Your kidding - ive had my command apc blown, we've lost all our armour and they aint stopping.
Feeling the increased pain of the leg wound, the lt slumped to the ground, propping up against the road wheel of the marder,
well you'd better get a blocking force together because in a few hours those russkies are going to be competing for space with the trams on the Linndermahle!!
As the medic worked on his leg the LT hoped someone could get together the necessary armour to stop the reds!

An excellent game! The rules worked fairly well, perhaps a few changes are needed - make the ATGW only able to fire in ambush or in their own turn, but not in both. Small adjustment to WOMBAT and correction of a couple of typo errors.
Anyway the game - Peter and Mike in defence as the scratch Brit / West German NATO force, myself and Kevin as WARPAC. Game started with heavy losses of armour on the WARPAC side. However, managed to knock out the 2 Challenger 1s plus the Jagd Chieftan, bt that really was only because we had 3 T55s as reinforcement. Russians did get through to the autobahn - well nearly did. Not much of the NATO force left but also very little WARPAC left as well. Lots of burning T80s!
Good game, good game!
