Peter Day has been in touch to invite us to take part in a Wargamer's Market, this will take place on Saturday the 26th April. The event will run from 09:30 - 17:00, 6ft tables can be hired, for the day £8, half the day £4 (booking in advance is recommended), entry for non-sellers is free. The venue is their normal meeting place, which is the Scout Hut in Hitchin. If there is enough interest I would think the club could hire a table?

Right well this is interesting as we could sort out some of the stuff in the store room and try and sell it off. Also, i have some stuff id like to get rid of - still trying to hawk those Tiger tanks around ha ha!

Terrance - lead us forward on this! I do think it is a good idea but i understand from intelligence given to me last night that this is a small venue? Will there be limited purchasers? We ca but hire a table and see!
I see a task force being assembled with HMS Terrance, HMS Damon and HMS Steven setting forth!

The Bedford Gladiators Armada Strikes!!! . All jokes apart, I think it's an excellent idea Steven, there is so much stuff upstairs that probably is just sitting there (but the bunker and the sci-fi trees might get more use now when we know of their existence... ), any plans to do some kind of inventory at some point?

well Capt Swede you are right - perhaps the Committee might consider doing this!! That'd be great!!! I'm sure I'm not talking for only me here, but now that I've get to play lots of games , it'd be nice to know what I can use at the club. Don't get me wrong, I like my terrain and will take it down for using, but if there is anything particularly "cool" that I haven't got it'd be nice to use it in the game instead of just sitting on a shelf... (communication tower, sci-fi trees, bunker, dumpster and lorry... there are troves up there!!!)

Ove
There is plenty of gear and games up there! It just takes a little digging on your part. You will have to spend some time looking through what is there. All the stuff you mention there does actually belong to me - its not club stuff. Im quite happy for you to use it though!

I will endeavour to do more digging next time I'm down to have a game, maybe come past on Sunday with daughter to do some rummaging . I know it's your stuff, and very well painted if I may say so, therefore it should be played with .

This does highlight the need for us, as a club to tidy the store and put more shelving up and reduce the qty of the things up there. There is some stuff that we have NEVER used and we need to take the opportunity of this sale to get rid and get some funds in!
Committee - you must strike!

There is some stuff that we have NEVER used and we need to take the opportunity of this sale to get rid and get some funds From an RPG point of view I know that there are some lovely looking sculpted dungeon and cave tiles up there that we have used a few times. Trouble is that although they look superb they aren't quite flexible enough to be used usefully and regularly for RPGs. I tend to use combat maps and paper and they are so much more flexible. The committee and club might consider selling these on if others agree? This is just my opinion though! There is a large RPG combat mat up there too somewhere which is much more useful but last time we looked for it we couldn't find it! On a slightly different note it might also be worth looking at the fold down gaming tables too? When I last got some down for our eclipse game I had trouble finding ones that weren't stuck or which seemed sturdy enough. This might also however be more to do with my lack of practical strength and skills! Happy to help with a clear out if I'm free at the time.

I do second that view, but the more long standing members are probably more suitable to decide what's being played with and what's not. My personal suggestion is that most of the board games upstairs don't see daylight, there are always people bringing games in. For purely personal reasons, terrain with Modern/ Near Future/ Old West (28mm) uses I'd like to keep, but should endeavour to make myself aware of what's actually available, stumbled over a ruined multi-story apartment block last time I was upstairs that I had no idea existed and WOULD use in many of my games... Don't know about the 40K stuff, doesn't seem like people are into it at Our Fine Club For Gentlemen these days... I personally probably don't use it these days for my games as I have other terrain at my disposal. There is some Old West stuff upstairs, a bit of a mixed bag, but most of it is probably for 20mm and in pretty poor condition, I am more than happy to bring my terrain down for those games/ lend it out.

And although highly unlikely, if I'm available that date, I'd be more than happy to help out.
