Some may remember this chap contacting us about a show he is organising in Tring, GAMEFEST 3, see website www.gamesfest.co.uk/He has recently got back to me after several months(and I had tried contacting him in this time, to no reply!) to see if we are interested in puting on a display game. I am not sure if we are expected to pay or not(these non mainstream shows are a bit strange like that!) but have asked him for clarification. The show is on OCT 4th, are we interested? put on our flames game again? Dave

Dave - I'd be game, but not if they expect us to pay. If they expect us to buy tickets then they're just trying to drum up punters, if they don't then . . . you know what I mean.

Still no reply to my enquiry. The chap did not say that we had to pay, but all the emails were of the " book your tickets early" type, and we have been in this game so long I think we are aware of what goes on! "so put on a game... AND you want me to pay entry....look into my eye!!". However if he is doing the same deal as mainstream shows, it may be good to get in on another local show. Dave

I'll be there demoing Hell Dorado on behalf of Simple Miniature Games so pop by for a game.
Not been to this show before so not sure what to expect. Anyone else planning to go?

Attended the show, but it was rather quiet. We ran 4 demos for Hell Dorado all day (which left time to have a look around/natter), and there were demos of Ships Ahoy! (Pirate Warmachine on giant ships) and a Doctor Who game. There were also RPGs (e.g. Yellow Dawn, card games (e.g. Ctultha, Munchkin) and board games (e.g. Memoir 44, Talisman).
Actually I felt sorry for the group of authors who were in a room downstairs and mostly looking rather bored. My son was happy as he got his new dan Abnett booked signed by the authour.
Also Project Hydra seemed to be doing more business than the Games Workshop stall next to them (the 10% off may have helped ;D).
