Terry, Graeham,
I had a quick look at Front Rank and Foundry last night and they don't do any Spanish.
I'm guessing other nations would be suitable?
I must admit a slight leaning to the French.
Mini's on Front Rank did look very nice though.

If you fancy doing French have a look at Foundry (infantry and cavalry) and Redoubt (infantry); I know that Front rank take some beating but some of the French infantry poses are a little suspect.

Terry Yeah, they did the French first, so they are the oldest figures in the range. Front Rank have come on in leaps and bounds with their poses since then. I've a French army, maybe 20 infantry battalions, plus 12+ cavalry. Under AoR they are probably the worst army, especially in the War of Spanish Succession - where they were awful, but plentiful.

If you want great figs look at the front rank spanish succession range. These are much newer than their 7yw and the do include French.

Crusader miniatures do 28mm SYW French fusiliers and command figs. Oddly, they aren't under the SYW section on the web-site, you need to look under 'Rank and File' ... 'Horse & Musket'. Generally the Crusader SYW figs. look very nice. I've some Austrians coming which I got off ebay, so I'll be able to see how they compare size wise to Front Rank and Foundry.

By all accounts French miniatures are suitable to use as Spanish. Although if the French are poor how do the Spanish compare
