They say the westerns are dead as a genre, but still they keep coming. This fall (October I guess) there will be a movie called Appaloosa, starring Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen, Jeremy Irons (the bad man) and Renee Zellwegger. Looks very appetizing from the trailer.
And last year there was the brilliant re-make 3.10 to Yuma with Christian Bale and Russel Crowe. Haven't seen the original but enjoyed this one to the full!! If you haven't seen it yet, do.
The Swede.

I caught the trailer to Appaloosa a few months ago, it did look pretty interesting.
Westerns are definitely not dead! The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford was my favourite (and therefore the best) film of last year. Watch it.

I have recently acquired that movie with Brad Pitt but haven't had a chance to see it yet, maybe Saturday, and couldn't they come up with a longer title? The current one is too short. The Swede.

Having seen Appaloosa this weekend I can inform you that it's pretty good. If you like Westerns then you'll definitely enjoy it. Moretensen and Harris have a surprisingly good chemistry, and even Renee Zellweger isn't that annoying. Some dodgy American accents from Jeremy Irons and Timothy Spall, but they're both good enough to overlook that slight misdemeanor. Overall I would reccommend it.
