Once again the forces of Good (Joe's Lawdogs) met the forces of Naughtiness (Hex's Harrowers) in a High Noon Scenario. Both Posses were in high spirits and had stocked up well on ammunition before the fight. It started off quite edgy, as Joe had a marksman with a Buffalo Rifle literally controlling the main street, which forced me to advance my troops in the shadows at the back of the buildings. The highlight of the game was in a situation when I called Quick-Draw with 3 different troops, but Joe managed to win the call! Lots of lead on all sides, but no casualities.
Anyway, for a long while it could have gone any way, we had both lost two men, my two got cornered in some nasty Hand-To-Hand where I stood 2 versus 4, and I had in turn shot enough bullets to actually cause some casualities on Joes side.
But with a bit of sheer tenacity, gung-ho, add a dash of luck and enough lead to make a blacksmith proud I managed to take down a few more of his Posse, among the trophies his Sheriff (clubbed down in viscious H-T-H) and his mad Deputy.
I have to say I really feel the pain when Joe rolls his Survival rolls. Yet again three out of five wounded bought the farm! Amongst those his mad Deputy. And that resulted in him getting measly $14 on 7 dices! You just can't account for bad rolls. We decided before the rolls to adopt the rule of max. 1 Hero Killed/ game, but keeping the rolls for Henchmen as they are.
I lost my FIRST man ever on the Survival roll, a Henchman Tough by the name of Loomis, but had enough money to hire his twin brother though.
All in all it was an enjoyable game with a few close calls.
Hopefully everyone's available on the Long Sunday (or thereabouts) so we can play the next Chapter in November.
