Searching the Internet for suitable miniatures to lavish my hard-earned money on, I stumbled upon these miniatures: www.arcaneminiatures.co.uk/darkson-designs.asp I think they look absolutely great!! Admittedly they're unassembled and unpainted when you buy them, but the artists have done a terrific job. Might not be everyones cup of tea, but as a few members are avid WW's players, I thought you'd like to know about new exciting products. The Swede.

Just noticed this thread. Both Sapper and I have purchased Secretes of the Third Reich. This has some nice models and what appears to be a good gaming system. Set in 1949 the evil Hun have unleashed deadly chemical weapons onto the world and created hordes of zombies. Not only that but Vampires, werewolves and indeed werebears make an appearance too. Ripping stuff. www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/secrets_of_the_third_reich.php

Interesting. I've been sorely tempted by Westwind stuff at shows before, but didn't think anybody else was interested in the WW2 Fantasy. I've 28mm Normal Russians, and loads of Zombies from my "Lost and the Damned" army. It would be nice to find something else to use them for . . .

I'm going to try and get a few games of Monsterpocalypse under by belt before I start thinking about getting into yet another system, but I'd probably be interested in trying this.

I've only got a few Panzermecha Grenadiers at the moment, 1 vampire and a Jump Trooper. I have to admit these were brought purely to paint up and the vampire was free with the rule book.
The Russians look rather good in SotTR, they get to some nice sniper special characters, werebears, mutated Siberians, and zombies.
I'll bring the rules in on Monday for you to have a look at if you want Mark.

I have yet to get any figures (Matt having converted me to the financial black-hole which is 40k at about the same time we were dipping our toes in Secrets of the Third Reich), but have made the mental commitment to go with the Yanks. I just love the Westwind Commanche battle suits and The A.P.E. suits from Incursion - Slugger Murphy and his lads. 1949: SOTR - one for summer '09, I think. Oh, and Project Hydra in Northampton stock the models.

Some may already be aware of this model line, mostly in a 1/20 scale. It's called Maschinen Krieger or Ma.K for short and is based on a Weird War II style future invented by a Japanese manga author Kow Yokoyama. It has an interesting style, avoiding the usual robot design or WWII themed cliches. The models themselves are very fine indeed. Here are some links: Some nicely finished models with links and forums: www.maschinenkrueger.com/index.htmlA general info site on the history of Ma.K with some links to mundane necessities like shops and forums. www.q-net.net.au/~nipngnwm/index.htmlThe only war game rules are for a hex based large scale strategy game. Here's a link to a fan translation of the Japanese manual, which aims to be more faithful than the official English language release. www.biased.info/downloads.htmlI am afraid the hexes scared me off! But I still like the game world alot, and am thinking about picking up a few models purely as fun modelling projects.
