I was dragging my weary butt around Homesense ( a TX Max clone shop) in Northampton yesterday and picked up a model of Shakespeare's birth-place. This was from the Fraser Creations British Heritage range (£3 down from something stupid) - anyway, it is a perfect ready-made 6mm terrain piece. All I need to do is get rid of the "Shakespeare's Birthplace" legend on its plinth and Bob's your uncle, I've got a nicely painted 17th century European manor house (yes, and before anyone says so, I know Shakespeare was born in the 16th century)!
I also picked up a "Westminter Abbey" from the same range. Ok, that model is a little on the small side for 6mm, but not ludicrously so and its such a beautiful model. I will invoke perspective for that and claim its being viewed from a distance ! I have a great big wooden display plinth to get off the base first, though.
