;D LOL !! maybe I could find out from the MKWS lot who painted them and find out about having them painted proffessionally. a few commanders wouldn't cost the earth (but still prob pricey!) but to keep the look, it would be good. Dave

By the way, looking at the official FAQ what we were doing with a large multi battlegroup mele seems to have been correct.
What is the best way to deal with a large combat with many BGs fighting and offset? What we do is break the line up into sections - start a new section every time the BGs (or POAs) change on either side. It is then very simple. Roll for hits and put them behind the troops in that section. Then remember that winning or losing a section doesn't matter. What matters is whether a battle group loses overall. (Inflicts less total hits than it received overall). So add up the hits received and inflicted by each battle group and see if it lost or not. If it lost, take a CT and Death roll. If not, then take a Death roll with +2 on the dice (which for most troops means you only need roll if you suffered 3 or more hits).

Ahh Matt, how was the honeymoon? all up for some gaming action now I bet! Well, Maurice is round mine for some AT43 on Friday, and Graham is round for some FoG on Sunday, which we are getting to grips with quite well. You are welcome round for any or both of these(plus you wanted some PS3 games to borrow if I recall) Currently hooked on COD 5 on the Wii .Yes the Wii, missus bought me the gun too, great fun on line! Dave ;D

I'll send you a message rather than pollute the FOG thread.
Seems FOG is taking off as Martyn texted me pictures of a FOG game in progress at his mates in Plymouth!

Dave
You only get the +2 on the death roll if you are taking it for having received 2HPB from shooting. You take the raw unmodified death roll for losing in close combat.
I played Later Medieval German vs. Kwarizmian. I had a lot of pike, some knights and light troops. He had wall to wall ghulams, LH bow and foot archers. I just couldn't catch his evading cavalry with my knights, and his MF archers proved remarkably hard when I caught them with my pikemen and knights !
See the Owt Else thread for a interesting follow up to my new year sojourn to Plymouth !!

Check out the blog for pics of Graham and my game. The extract in my last post is copy and pasted from the official errata, so is from the horses mouth! But yes I see your point. We seem to be getting the hang of the rules now, so will probably be interested in another army in the new year, maybe Hussite. Always fancied them! saw about the injury, ouch! get well soon, at least you can get some painting in! Dave

So am I right in noting that we are all opting for chivalrous chaps on horses with big pointy sticks as a general period?
I'll have a read of Storm of Arrows and pick summit as I do rather like FoG.
Although rather suspiciously there seems to be rather a lot of Germans kicking round!!
