I've been asked to look into the possibility of organising an AT-43 tournament at this years Games Expo show in Birmingham on 6th or 7th June. Sponsorship by the UK distributor is a distinct possibility (i.e. some decent prizes could be on offer). My first thoughts are 3 rounds at 1600 points along the same lines at the games up in Leicester. Any thoughts or indications of interest would be appreciated. [glow=red,2,300]FINAL DETAILS 26/4/09[/glow] The booking system for this event is now online via the Games Expo website www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/at43.php :Zork SMG have sponsored the event so basically it is £7 for entry to games Expo AND the tournament (normal entry to the show is £7). Places are limited to 16 (unless there is massive demand beyond this). If you want a 2 day ticket then we'll sort out a refund for the tournament entry. Prizes include SMG vouchers (£50/30/20), Ziterdes gaming boards and whatever Rackhams provide (details when I have them). Full details will be on the website on Monday. Please indicate below if you have entered/intend to enter.

If you will be attending the monthly in Leicester this Sunday we can talk in more detail and I can talk to Chris at the same time about me having a day of work to go and help you at Expo.

I would be interested. Any thoughts on the format? Entry fees and prizes to be incorporated? What terrain , and where are you thinking of sourcing it from, home made or shop bought? The u tube thing I saw a link to in the Phoenix site, where the guy made walls to go on the playsheet you get in the base set might be a good plan. Dave

Will certainly discuss this on Sunday.
Idea was to have an entry fee that also gave entry to the show. I'm sure I can negotiate some good prizes from Graham at SMG (AT-43's distributor in UK).
Hadn't thought much further than this until I find out if there's enough interest.

This tournament is now CONFIRMED for Saturday 6th June. Entry will be £10 including entry to the show.
Prizes to be confirmed, but should include some vouchers to spend at SMG's stand at the show and hopefully some LE/SE figures from Rackhams.
Boards will be 2' x 4' and either the Ziterdes ones as used at Salute or the flat boards I have in my garage. Scenery will be kept simple using the AT-43 containers and barriers.
Scenarios will most likely be chosen from the ones we have been using at Phoenix.
More details when I have then, but please post here or on the AT-43 EN Forum if you are interested in entering.

I would be interested. I purchased 4 of those boards you used at Salute. Can't wait to use them!! I take it the Succubus Golgoth was another loaner from Rackham, like the Doch Yagga! Dave

Dave The 'Succubus Golgoth' was actually a Star Wars Junk Golem! ;D Fooled a few people though as it really fits in with Neil's scenario. Will be running the scenario again at Games Expo (on the Sunday anyway). Glad to here you are interested in the tournament - hopefully you'll be bringing along a car load!

The original post has now been updated with final details and a link to the booking system.
Hope to see a good showing from the Gladiators. Will see if I can get an extra team prize as Phoenix are planning to send 3 or 4 players! Interested?

Great, I have just paid.... And I assume an Easy AT43 list is acceptable. Oh, and do they send you the tickets in the post? as there is no download and print off facility? Dave

6 tickets sold so far, including Jon from Northampton, dave from bedford and some of the Leicester guys. So get your tickets bought - you won't get a better prize fund this year!

Info from my contact at the show is that the 1 day ticket can be expanded to 2 days at the Admin desk anytime on the Saturday for just £3.
The Friday ticket is an additional £3.
May be there myself on the Friday - not sure yet as Tim has got a Saturday job (GW Bedford!) so I may just travel up early on the Saturday.
