Maybe you could use the rules for rattling guns for the Orc guns? Although that has its own inherent risks but that could represent their lack of understanding of the technology. Partially true In the book they got the hang of basic assault rifles and the like fairly quickly, but they did have a few ... erm ... difficulties with the more sophisticated kit (rocket launchers, helecoptors, etc) - actually that's the main reason the sections with the Hewey's were so funny (they really couldn't get the hang of flying the bloody things) So, I agree - some kind of fumble system for that kind of kit would be in order I think that historical games have an inherent advantage as demonstration games - especially at MK, which is one of the two shows we'd be sure to take the game too. Fantasy games can work though - but really need to be huge or have a single eye-catching feature to draw the punters in. I don't entirely agree I think that what we really need is something a bit different, something that stands out from the crowd. After all, different is interesting and that's what draws the punters in. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying historical isn't interesting or visual, because it certainly can be, but neither is it inherently more so than fantasy, sci-fi, or any other genre for that matter. A guess what I'm saying is -- let's not dismiss anything out of hand before we've tried it out

I like all of Martin's suggestions - first class. I dont know much about the fantasy games but they sound like they could generate a lot of enthuiasm (both in the rujning of the game and the building). Mark is right about the car thing though - the terrain has got to fit. I like all that im reading! Jagshemash!! I like!!

I think this is the first question we need to answer. Last year we went to:
Campaign Colours Letchworth Model show [took a different game]
For next year I'd suggest we also add Abingdon to that list.
Any others?[/quote]
SELWG, Gamesday, Britcon?

SELWG - does that show happen any more. It hasn't for the last three years.
Gamesday - How do we get an invite?
Britcon - certainly a possibility. The game would have to be a demo, and something that we could play for the 2-3 days. There's not enough other stuff going on during the day to keep us entertained otherwise.

SELWG is definately on. The lads were running the B&B at salute, and dishing out flyers. 18th Oct. Games Day we will be looking at 2010, and will submit our entry sometime in Early part of the year, I think. Dave
