I have recieved a flier from Peter Day, and our good friends at Hitchin Blackwolf Wargames Club. For the older members amongst you, you will know that the annual military quiz will be soon, and he has booked the Scout Hut, Old hale way, Hitchin again, for Thursday 15th October, start time 7;45 pm, you can get in from 7;15. Usual teams of 3 to 4 people. As there is limited space this year we need to register, so please forward me your intention to attend ASP. Cheers, Dave

I'm going to see if I can get a proper Phoenix club team together for this this year. I would therefore appreciate it if you could let me have Hitchin's contact info, so I can let them know we are coming (if I can get a team sorted out).
Thanks

Well, the boss has managed to kaibosh my plans again for next week (and possably further) as I have to stay away in Shrewsbury. This of course means I will be unable to attend the Quiz, which I was looking forward to alot! Really need to take a leaf from Mr Beech's book and ditch the unpleasant job for a better life all round I think! Dave

Was the leaf gag intentional as I'm studying Arboriculture ;D
I have had to sacrifice Monday night gaming though - I'm looking forward to Sunday though.

Dave
My boss has also kaiboshed my participation (by my boss , of course, I mean the wife !) She has a meeting that night and I am baby-sitting. That's two years running I'll have missed the fray !
BTW, I think we should now call Matt "Treebeard" as he is training to be a shepherd of trees.

Hi Matt; good luck there seems to be a lack of Arboriculuralists (if thats how it is spelt) I seem to have spent a lot of time trying to get one to a meeting. Typically like buses in the end I got two who cant agree what I can do with a couple of ancient willows

I'll go, but I have no transport and would need a lift from Bedford. Don't mind chipping in for the petrol or diesel or LPG or plutonium for the fission reactor or whatever propels your vehicle. Daveb. P.S. I am not, repeat, not pedalling a tandem to Hitchin. I have standards to maintain.

I hope we do have people still going, it would be a pity for the club to break with a tradition, just because I am unable to go. plus I said to Pete Day we are coming! Dave
