After Warfare, a bit of a chat was had about the Perry's exellent Sudan range. many years ago some of us were lucky enough to play the original Sudan game by Peter Guilder. Do we fancy this as a Black Powder game project for 2011 premiering at Milton keynes?.......look at the Redoubt River Gun Boat....briming with Krup guns and a detatchment of naval brigade..... Fuzzy Wuzzys, thousands of 'em ! you know you want to! Dave

I like the idea of gaming the Sudan, but I don't think it is practical for us to start from scratch and put on a game in May 2011. Anyway, I thought the plan was to do a "big" fantasy for next year campaign?

Ah, I wasn't aware of the fantasy game. But maybe we could start construction with a view to 2012 season ? It would be nice to have some sort of game that was suitable for mags to include in the usual eye candy pages after shows! and to be one of the "must see" games of the season. Dave

Sorry Dave we had a lot of time to chat when we were at the race course the other weekend and we did fancy a big fantasy. I like the idea of something colonial but its a big ask to knock out something on the scale that we like to do things for next year. It would be interesting to see who else has an interest in this to see if that may extend into starting collections?

Would be happy to help play the game at shows but have no interest in collecting armies for this period. Too many other things to do like a large trojan/hiitite army and their egyptian counterparts.
Or there were some very, very, very nice sassanid 15mm at reading..........................................................

Surely now is the time to decide the club game for 2012. I think a colonial game is an excellent idea. However might not the Zulu war be a better choice? Warlord are producing British, NNC and Zulu sets in plastic, reducing the cost.

I was also so thinking as Force on Force seems to be taking off how about doing a game based on the "Dogs of war"
