Warlord are publishing a new rules set, imaginatively entitled Bolt Action, to complement their miniature range of the same name. The rules are, I understand, to be "Black Powder for WW2", and are due out in August. Phoenix Gaming Club in Rushden are already gathering interested parties for a Bolt Action campaign.
Does anyone fancy dipping their toe (at the Gladiators, not Rushden) ? If so, we could perhaps coordinate army choice so we have a decent selection of Axis / Allied forces in the club.
I'm not sure what numbers of figs and vehicles would be needed for a typical game, anyone with more info out there ?
Without making any definitite commitments at this stage, who might be interested ?
I'm in, with Waffen SS and/or U.S. Airborne (late war).
What do people think ?

Hi Sapper
the new BA rules are due out around August and we have been playtesting them for Warlord, and have to say they are an excellent set of rules, and have gone down much better than Operation Squad and Rules of Engagement within Phoenix.
they are extremely easy rules to pick up and the points values are per squad of 5 (normally) with points added on depending on weapons options and extra men.
there will be nation specific army books coming out too, the first being German a month or so after the main rules and followed by American shortly after, then British, Russian etc
in my opinion they are not really 'Black Powder for WW2, but are a cracking skirmish game that will fully compliment their minis for this genre and i think that other people who have WW2 already will love playing these as well as their current rules of choice.
if anyone would like a run through of the rules please feel free to contact me and we can sort out a game at Phoenix on a Tuesday evening.
cheers
Carl
