I haven't a clue to what the normal proceedings for this kind of events are, but someone suggested a couple of smaller games instead of one very big one. Extending that thought: It's been so far "concrete" suggestions of a Dr Who game, which I'm sure would fit well in with the crowd, but I have no knowledge about the good Doctor (although some Star Wars/ Star Trek game cross my mind...) and a Terminator game. For the Terminator one: figures? I'm actually planning on buying a couple more of these minis anyway, so if we need, let's say 10 Terminators or so, I'd be more than happy to supply them (only £1.25 a piece ;D) www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/ROBOTS.htmlThen comes the setting in that case: Killing/ rescue Sarah Connor? (as in the first movie), a running chase (T2) or maybe Skynet has won and humanity is on the brink of extinction? Terrain: urban landscape? wartorn wasteland? I have some buildings and bits and bobs, even a couple of road tiles but probably not enough for a nice 4'x4' table, let alone a larger one. RULES?: Speaking from personal preference here, I play skirmish games. The rules need to be simple with very little to no book keeping. I have found Two Hour Wargames rules engine, The Reaction System works wonders, but as I say, personal preference. Other: I think the idea that Steven had is a good one, making it a participation game, give each player a figure or two to command and that way you can have several players around the table.

Ill bring the 7TV rules from crooked dice down for you to have a look at though I suspect the 70's BBC parodys might not work as well for you :-)

Stirring the pot again. I am now on a big Old West buzz, in the pipelines are repainting all my Old West minis, ordering some new ones (The Good, The Bad and The Ugly amongst others...)and purchasing some MDF kits from Battle Flag www.wargame-buildings.com/, which is going to happen anyway. I also have quite a few card buildings for the setting, lacking horses though... It's just a thought.

There are some 15mm Terminator figs here - 15mm Automatons and at £4 for 10 you could have quite a large force. Plus there are plenty of 15mm vehicles & dropships etc. out there if required - and they're not too pricey... D

Yes - Terry, Steve, Maurice, Mark, Damon, Carl and Derek are doing a game. They can explain more but Maurice has posted a picture on the website and i believe this is the game that will be played at the MK show this weekend.

Hi Dave, We are doing the Battle of Paraitacene 317 BC, this is based on the command and colours board game, but using figures, 15 mm at the moment. We played the game through on the last all day sunday. Played to conclusion twice in an afternoon, game works best with 4 players per side, three players take the centre and flank commands and the forth acts as the overall general, who gives out the orders using the game card based system. Hope to see you there as you know we always need as many members as are available.

Terry
I am taking part in the 15mm FOG ancients tournament at Campaign, but I'm bound to be soundly thrashed long before "last bound" is called so will pop over to give some moral support at some stage.
