After last nights fun playing two games I've had for a while but had not yet played (thanks btw for a great evening), I had a count up of how many games I have that are also still unplayed. I'm ashamed to say that the count is 9! I have therefore decided that I'm not going to buy another game (not counting presents or expansions) until I have played the following at least once: Eclipse Libertalia Steam 20th Century Perry Rhodan and the cosmic league Tanhauser (revised edition) Dreadball (kick off edition) Forbidden Desert Battlelore Let me know if anyone wants to try one of these out when we next have a free Monday or Sunday!

I'd be happy to give you a game of dreadball at some point. Although between the last few sessions of D&D and the Starwars game it might be a while before we get a chance.

Thanks Stephen. Yes it might take a while before we can play!
Incidentally I noticed another one this morning too, a light sci fi wargame called frontiers, bringing the total to 10!
Are there plans for the next Sunday?

Not at the moment no. If we're not looking at doing any Pathfinder I'd be happy to have a boardgames afternoon to either play something that takes 3+ hours or get several games in.

Thinking about it, Eclipse would make a good Sunday game, as it's basically Twilight Imperium but taking a bit less time to play and with a small VP reward for getting into space battles giving you more of a reason to be a bit more agressive.

We'll I'm up for game of Eclipse of course. The last time I played it I really sucked, got too absorbed in the tech upgrades, and finished last by some distance. So hopefully I can do better this time.

Great! I'm also keeping a slot open for Ove in the Eclipse game in case he can join us - this means there are slots for 2 more players We had a further sort out of the spare room this week and found another box of forgotten games! Some of these have also never been played yet bringing the total number of unplayed games to 17! I've updated my games listing on Board Game Geek - anything without a rating is unplayed www.boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/Folkish%20Elm?own=1&subtype=boardgame&ff=1Let me know if there's anything anyone would like to me to bring along to the club in future

Hi Chris, do you still have a space open for Eclipse on the all day? Always liked TE and Eclipse is supposed to provide a similar, but quicker, fix. John

Just a quick note to confirm Sunday (tomorrow) at 1pm for our game of eclipse. Ove has confirmed so we have all player slots filled If anyone who hasn't played before would like a head start on the rules, I've found this episode of the how to play podcast really useful: howtoplaypodcast.com/episodes/episodes-31-40/episode-39-eclipse/See you tomorrow Chris

Thanks for arranging the game Chris I enjoyed it can't see me buying it, as I can't see my having a chance to play it often (and dear god the bits) but would happily play it again if the opportunity presents itself.
