The advance into the Slavic homeland was delayed by a week due to illness.
However, we resume on Monday with the 2nd Panzer Division's thrust towards Lvov.
Our game centres on the elements of the division making a smaller probe towards a Soviet held village.
What defences will the Germans face? Can their new 'combat debut' vehicles make a decisive impact?
We shall see on Monday!

Oh dear! Richard and Steven as German attacked Peter and Kevin as Soviets in defence.
Steven attacked on the left and, despite the support of the Stug III was stamped on hard! His platoon of Infantry took heavy casualties and failed a morale check - the result was a full retreat. Some might say his dice rolling let him down again!
Richard attacked on the right and with better tactics, made greater progress, advancing into the village.
Steven took his last unit - the combat debut sdkfz 251/16 - to those who dont know, thats the German APC with two flamethrowers mounted. It stormed into the village and killed a few with the flamethrowers but alas was destroyed on the next turn!
Richard continued the assualt on the right but ran out of infantry. His flamethrower half track did well but we had to declare a successful defence from the Soviets.
Well done Peter and Kevin!
Next week we are in the bocage as Kevin's new American army fights its way through to St.Lo!

A single squad of Kevin's infantry (shooting for their lives) held a cottage against my entire platoon (shooting as if they'd captured too much vodka from the previous village) until a flamethrower set it alight. After flaming the next house too (again leaving most of the men in it alive to pull back) there was no way through; a third of the village was burning, the Russians still held two thirds and the Germans none.
