We return to the western front on Monday:
It's July 1944 and the US army has been fighting through the bocage country of Normandy. Flushed with new reinforcements, the relatively inexperienced new US units are very well equiped. The German army on the other hand has been fighting since 6 June and is exhausted. Ground down on the ground, attacked from the air and subjected to bombardment by the allied navies, the Germans are near collapse. However, they are very experienced soldiers and are still capable of giving the allies a bloody nose. The question is, can they stop the new US offensive which is designed to breakout of the bocage and into the open terrain of central France.
