Well a most interesting game. Somewhere in Normandy, July 1944
One end of the board was Peter, Kevin and Mike with the American army, driving up the road towards the village. Force of 1 platoon of infantry in half tracks with two platooms of Shermans, an M10 tank destroyer unit and a battle group HQ.
The other end of the board, also driving for the village was the German force commanded by Richard in charge of 3 Panthers and 2 Panzer IVs. Steven commanded the armoured infantry in half tracks.
A furious fight for the partially ruined tenament building on the town square developed. It ebbed and flowed but the German Infantry, supported by Richards Panzer IVs slowly won through. On the other flank, Peter killed a Panther tank with the M10s. But it was on the left that Richard killed two of Mike's Shermans and together with another Sherman falling victim to a Panzerschreck from Steven, that the American force was then forced back. The US infantry had also started to retreat having suffured and a poor morale dice roll saw a general, organised pull back. So a German victory.
After the game had finished the US Navy's Battleship 'Nevada' gave the village the benefit of several 14" main gun salvos and that was the end of the Germans!
It was a good game that we actually managed to conclude, which is a near miracle in itself!
Good game!

Excellent pictures old bean! I like the pic of the new factory - shows off the Citreon poster really well.
The last picture is amusing - the US armour pushes through the bocage and past the wreck of the silly little French Renault FT tank - the "Dalek". Who knows how long it has been there!
Good show!

I still think we should have imposed a penalty for that I dunno, maybe a 50/50 chance that it blows the breech every time it shoots If we'd done that, my Shermans might have survived long enough to do something useful
