A change of scope for this one - it'll be fought in 1/300th (6mm) - same ruleset as usual, but with measurements in cm & using the special sticks hand crafted by a Latvian Shepherd Boy.....
I'll dig the forces out of the loft, count them & put some details up on here soon.

Damon
There is a set of sticks for 1/300 in the storage area in a small tube. However, it does lack the largest stick - the black and white one.

Excellent!! I've got enough troops for a few regiments on each side - won't have time to paint the Hind though.....

I have quite a few Chieftains and FV 432s with infantry if you need any more 1/300 British.

Yes it was very good, and a very enjoyable game.
Basically we played another encounter game. With the Russians attempting to take a small village from the British forces.
On the Russian side we had two companies of T80's, a company of T64's, plus about two companies of mechanised infantry (in a range of transports).
The Brits had about two companies of Challangers and a couple of troops of Chieftains, plus a few platoons of supporting infantry.
The Russians attempted to flank the village on both sides with the T80 companies, while the infantry and the T64's advanced up the centre. Unfortunately the T80's didn't fair to well on the flanks, both companies took heavy damage from the Challangers and were stopped well short of their objective, the T64's in the centre also took a pasting. All in all some 15 or 16 Russian tanks were knocked out for the loss of maybe 1 Challanger and some damage to a couple of others.
The infantry tried to balance that up a bit with a barrage of Spandrel missiles, which took out another couple of Challangers and damaged a couple more, but by this point the Russian armour had begun to fall back, ending the Russian attack.
The forces were perhaps not totally balanced, probably the Russians needed maybe a few additional tanks to balance up the British Challanger numbers, but the game worked pretty well at that scale. Looking forward to trying that out again at some point.

Yes- T'was good fun!! I've marked all the Soviet forces up now so that we can clearly see which vehicle belongs to which troop and am in the process of rebasing the Brits.....
Have also ordered a company of Chieftains to replace one of the Chally 2 companies, and a company of T72's!
Looking forward to the next bash!

We used the "normal" rules but with the smaller scale sticks. Next time we'll have a go with Coldwar Commander to see how that pans out.
I'm afraid most of the scenery was 15mm - t'was like attacking the land of the giants!!
