This week marks (if my maths is correct) 350 years since the Great Fire of London. To commemorate this would anyone like to join me in a game of Richard Denning's clever board game on the subject? 3-6 players play rich land owners trying to use the trained militia to direct the fire away from their own properties and favoured landmarks. The trick is that only you know what you own until the end of the game! More details here: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/41569/great-fire-london-1666

I like this game so I'm up for trying not to burn down all of London.

You truly have a boardgame for every occasion! I can only hope that, next Monday, you have an appropriate game to commemorate the 63rd anniverary of the marriage of Senator John F. Kennedy and Jackie Bouvier?

How did the game go? I trust that Mrs Miggins' Pie Shoppe was saved?

Great game Chris – really enjoyed it Highlights (for me): First round – absolute first thing to get burnt down was the house of Samuel Pepys – adjudged by all as his own fault for being so pretentious Mid game – Damon revealing that he owned St Paul's, prompting everybody else to burn it down – I got it a couple of rounds later Final round – absolute last thing to get burnt down was the Tower of London (by me) – annoying Damon (who had three houses there) and Steve C who had the property card Sorry Damon, I guess the gods of boardgaming just weren't with you last night
