ENEMY PLACEMENT: I've had a little think and I suggest we place them according to these rules: - If multiple Enemy types are indicated, the FIRST one on the card is placed on the tile where the Exploration Token is, the others are randomized in the exits from the Tile where the Heroes are that invoked the Attack. - As previously discussed, unless it's an Ambush, the Enemy may NOT be placed on the tile where the Heroes are activating the Attack from. If you have any other ideas, I am open to other suggestions .

Yeah, I'd go with that.

Hello everyone! It's Elena... ...yes, the woman!! I hope I passed the test I really enjoyed the game (not so much the uselessness of me!) and would love to try it again. Do you know if there is still a space on Monday 19th? As I come from quite far away (Bletchley), I am aiming to be there by 7.30 (traffic is bad in MK). Ciao Elena

Ciao Elena Hello and welcome to the Bedford Gladiators Elena!!! I am glad you enjoyed the game, and I think we all felt a little bit 'useless' last scenario so you are not alone !!! We are getting it to run a bit smoother but still somewhat getting used to the rules (and I've incorporated a few house rules). A little advice for your character: If the Enemies are adjacent you might be better off with a Melee Attack instead of shooting your rifle. You get 2 dice and will hit on 4+ in Melee, whereas you only get 1 dice when shooting, also hitting on 4+. Granted, IF you kill an Enemy you get another shot (and potentially another AND another, up to Maximum +3 Shots), so the choice is yours. Also spotted when we sorted out the boxes you have a pair of boots as Personal Item which are giving you +1 Agility AND +1 Move, don't think you added the extra point to your Movement last time so worth remembering. I am intending to run this game with whomever wants to play, and only replace them if I know they can't make the session/ dropping out, so YES, there is a space reserved for you. As far as I know, all are attending although I don't finish work until 2000 and will be down as soon as I can (about 2010 I hope). I have NO objections to anyone running my character if you are ready to start play earlier than my appearance, there have been suggestions to split into two 3-player parties (I have two different Core Sets so that's doable and Morgan and I have sorted out the Mine Cards, Loot, Scavenge and Exploration Markers). I will therefore let the group decide if they want to stick together or playing two parties, but suggest that Stephen's Preacher and Matt's Saloon Girl belong to either party, as they are our designated healers... Hopefully we will survive the next scenario (or die less horribly), then I think the idea is to aim for a Large Town and spend, spend, spend all our gold!!! The Doctor is going to be a popular fellow I predict . Ove (the guy who runs the game)

Nice to meet you last time, Elena. I think that each character has its own strengths and weaknesses; I'm not sure about the Rancher but I certainly need to learn that my Indian Scout is not primarily a fighter. None of the upgrade options make him much better in combat so I need to learn to be a bit more sneaky, I think. It feels like we want to find a way to increase your chance of hitting because you do plenty of damage with that rifle and the chance of continuing that chain of shots is pretty good.

Interesting stuff. In terms of my character, Maximilian Grit, the law round these parts, it feels like he is an all rounder with average stats in everything. I therefore plan to keep him that way and try to find options to increase his chances of getting more grit in game to fill out his two max grit increases. He should be able to use all that grit for whatever is needed at the time - mainly staying alive and killing gribbly things.

Hi all. Fantastic! Great. I'll see you on Monday 19. Can't wait. I thought the game was really good and everyone was really nice and very welcoming, thank you all Thanks for that, I have not considered melee as I thought I was not good at it. But will try next time. Or stay behind... no! not behind, no... in the middle, I think we said in the centre of the party Ah, the boots! I completely forgot about them until I was.. ehm... slightly incapacitated (ie knocked down on the ground never to see action again). By that time it was too late. As it seems we can start earlier than 8pm, I will try to leave Bletchley at 6.30. that should get me there by 7.15. Is this a big problem? You could start and I really don't mind you guys playing me. Oh yes!! Shopping! Gun, I need a proper gun everybody. A bazooka would be nice Possibly not invented yet Yes, my shooting ability is awesome... when I hit & kill. I really like it. It feels like cleave and great cleave which I adored in dd I thought the law man was pretty good... Ah, the Grit. More grit, yes more grit (hungry eyes).

I'm glad everyone are enjoying themselves and I too am looking forward to the next game!!! As Morgan says, each Character has a slightly different Focus and Strengths and Weaknesses. Although saying that, when you level up it's YOUR choice in which direction to develop the character in the Skill Tree. It's VERY unusual to get your TN for Ranged/ Melee Attacks to decrease (getting better), unless you have maxed out one of the Skill Trees (last one in the Ranged option for Gunslinger gives him Ranged 2+ and the last one for the Desperado in his Dual Wield Option gives him Ranged 4+). A viable option for improving your chances might be to get a Shotgun (Single or Double Barrelled) as they give you D8 to roll To Hit AND D8 for Damage!! Drawback is of course that the Range is shrinking (think around 5 compared to the Rifle's 12). Although they are fairly expensive ($1000+ I think). There are also some Artifacts that may be of use (Pedro has his Fang Dagger which give him +1 Combat, Critical Hits on 4-6! although only usable once per fight, still a very useful item). In Combat, all characters have the option to use EITHER Ranged or Melee, but not both in the round (unless you have a Free Attack). The only real drawback to a Ranged Attack is that the hits HAVE to be assigned first to adjacent targets. So to give you some options: - Stand your ground and fire at adjacent target, hoping to hit with 1 dice, hitting on 4+. - Attack the adjacent target in Melee, default 2 dice, hitting also on 4+. - Either BEFORE or AFTER your attack (your choice) you roll the Movement dice to see if you get 1 Grit and may also move that many spaces (+1 due to your Boots). - If you want to move and there's an adjacent Enemy, you have to roll 1 dice and pass the Escape Value printed on the card. If you do, you may move past ALL Enemies of that Escape Value OR higher. So, if you are a bit locked in in the thick of it, it might be better to start swinging in Melee, but if you can move and create space/ distance, maybe a Ranged attack is the way forward. Just some advice. I think we are thinking of opting for going to a Large Town after the next Adventure, as 5/6 Characters have Injuries that would be nice to have healed and also giving us much more options what to do with our money!!! Aside from the simplest trinkets (Side Bag items like Bandages, Whiskey etc) most Items start at around $500 and upwards!!! For Pedro's part, I think what I want to do (unless the Town is Terrorised and burn down after our first day there... as usual ), is to go to the Doctor and get his hand injury fixed (which is a big hindrance, as he's built with Dual Wielding Pistols in mind), seeing the local priest and get Aura of Fortitude (giving him Spirit Armour for the next Adventure), buying a Horse (so he can go Cattle Rustling at the Smuggler's Den), stock up on Bandages, Whiskey and DYNAMITE!!! Next up is probably a Gunman's Poncho (giving him +1 Initiative in the first round of Combat) and a Gunslinger's Pistol or two , unless he finds some nice shooters amongst Artifacts. See you all Monday 19 for more Weird West Adventures (and I hope to have my Snakemen of Jargono box painted by then). Ove.

Talking about injuries... I think my hand is injured and I can't shoot, but hopefully I remember wrong Bank, probably. You draw random Building Markers (12 in all and a Large Town contains 8), and some stores may also be shut/ burnt down due to bad Travel Hazards on our way there. But you may only rob the bank if you have the Keyword Outlaw on your Character Sheet (think you have Frontier)... BUT, in the Smuggler's Den you can have an 'Initiation' and gain the Keyword Outlaw (might be some Gear/ Artifacts that also bestow it). Yes, we have the same Injury, Pedro can't shoot at all with one hand (so only one gun) and you can still shoot a two handed gun (your Rifle) but can't gain Critical Hits, only normal ones. Bit pants for both of us but think we will muddle through... just keep that Grit coming .

The Serpentmen of Jargono! Nasty Enemies with Dark Stone weapons and the Serpentman Shaman can cast Voodo-like spells! And with these, I have painted EVERYTHING I have got for SoB (for the moment).

Last minute things!!!! AMBUSH: Enemies that are Ambushing gets +2 Initiative in the FIRST round ONLY. The Bandido: Anyone running my character tomorrow until I can attend, I have already added in MOST bonuses to his Attributes from different things, so they are as per the Character Sheet. Think I forgot to add +1 Cunning from the Ring he found last time (starts out with 1 Cunning so should have 2). - If surrounded by multiple Enemies, I think he'll be better off using his Fang Dagger (Free Attack once per Fight, attack with 3 dice Melee, Critical on 4-6!!!) and then trying to move back a bit. - Don't forget his Sinister Laugh Skill!!! Each time he kills an Enemy, he gains a Grit on a 5- 6! (I think...) I have made a hand drawn second Initiative Chart and leave Morgan 'In Charge' until I turn up, as he's got all the stuff. I suggest to shuffle EVERY card deck before you start, especially the Map, Loot and Scavenge Decks. As there are so many Encounter and Gear cards, maybe only shuffle the ones we haven't revealed so far. See you tomorrow !
