Matt and Dave
When you re-visit FOG I'd like to join in, if there's room for a small one ?

I could start by passing the dice. Icould then progresss slowly to rolling the dice and perhaps, eventually, have independent command of a small battlegroup of psiloi somewhere on the periphary of the action ?

I was looking up ESSEX minis recently. They now have quite a comprehensive range of FOG starter armies for 15mm . The Italian Condottas are £52....hmmmm.....Colours... garghhhhh (as per Homer and donuts!)!!!! In fact most of the starter armies are in the same price range..anyone fancy buying some opposition? Dave
What would you count as valid opposition, anything mediaeval ? I could borrow some knights and miscellaneous crossbowmen and such. I am (v. slowly) painting up a 15mm Alexandrian army I bought under-coated from ebay a little while ago, so am loath to invest in yet more lead at this stage. I already have the EU lead mountain developing under the stairs what with 15mm Napoleonic French still to paint up, the Alexandrians, American paras for FOW and some more SYW Prussians still to do. Oh, and I nearly forgot - some 1/300th Challenger Is too. Come to think of it, it wasn't long ago that I flogged an Essex starter Crusader army !

Dave I may well sort out some opposition but not just yet - all funds need to be directed else where at the moment.

I agree with Dave - at the moment there's enough tournaments/campaigns going on. Maybe something for next year.

As Dave knows I have Greeks - Alexandrian, Rise of Macedon, Epirotes, and the other half has republican Romans. Not that much but I do concentrate more on WFB.
However if it means rebasing everything just to play FoG and then reverting the basing to play WAB - I don't think I would bother. It seems too much hard work - considering what I have on my plate at the mo. So I think its WaB or nowt.

Dave
Do you know how many points worth of Condotta you've got ? Are you aiming for a particular number of points ? I understand that 850 is becoming traditional for 15mm.
I was thinking of getting some Sassanid Persians, but it makes more sense to get something more compatible with your Condotta.

I hadn't got any particular points value in mind, just get the starter army, and maybe one or two options for it later on, like Artillery,or dismounted MAA. I just fancied something of the period, with early gunpowder, but still with Knights and men at arms. I may also get some commanders for my Thracians, as they are a fairly good army too. (the prob is copying the professional paint job, or getting someone to do it for me...Terry??) Dave

Hi Dave; not sure even my paint box has the collection of pastel colours required to match your Thracians!
