I am bringing Twilight Imperium boardgame on that Sunday. Have Steve M and Mike booked up for it, need 3 more players for epic space conquest and intergalactic machiavellian goings on! (be warned it is a long game! but very good) Dave
PS I will be bringing the box of new shirts and bags for those who have ordered them.

Dave
What time would you envisage finishing Twilight Imperium - roughly ? I have asked Mark if he'd like to give his War of the Ring army a combat debut on Sunday, but if he's not up for that I quite fancy joining in with TI. I'd have to agree with Mrs Sapper a time at which I must leave the ball before my carriage turns back into a pumpkin, though.

Martyn, T.I. is a very long game. The first one we played (which did involve popping out the counters, starships, learning the rules etc.) we didn't really finish, and went on till 9pm, but you are welcome to join in. Dave

We did finish, I won, having reached 10 VPs.
I'd suggest this sundays game will play rather a lot quicker, even with a few new players. The first couple of turns took us ages, as none of us really had any idea of what we ought to do. It speeded up quite a bit after that. Plus as you say we had to sort out all the bits first before we could even start, and then read through the rules.
I'd be expecting to finish around 7pm, assuming we start somewhere between 12pm and 12:30pm.

Dave
Pencil me in for TI then, please. I won't slow things down ... I'll just do what the last person who spoke to me before my turn has told me to do (or the opposite).

TI isn't actually that complex to play as such. Most of what takes the time is getting your head around working out what order you want to do things in, as the game means you can only activate (do stuff in) each system once per turn.
So sometimes you need work out what order you need to activate systems in, in order to get things to work as planned.

If there is still a place going I'd like to get in on the action.

Hmm . . . I was pondering joining this one too, but the potential of a 9pm finish was putting me off. Looks like the game is oversubscribed now though. Dave, Stephen, Mike, Maurice, dabomb, Ove, Martyn, John - makes 8 and I think it takes 6

Glad one of us can count I'll find something else... Might even start painting this WoC I keep putting off. Maybe we can tempt you down for another boardgame . . . I'm sat in a room full of them. There's plenty of good ones, but I get hit by a sort of decision paralysis when I try to decide which one to suggest. And then there are the figures . . .
