aha, now this is interesting! I decided to sell my french as I could not find an oponent! well maybe we should have a little chat james. I could pop over next monday and bring my rules along for us to take a look at. Do you play any other systems? perhaps we could arrange a game together for my visit?

ok well we could look at the rules that we both have have, if you are willing to take up in the grande manner, I could look at sorting a copy out for you. other than that, I do know a chap who is currently writting a very simple easy to learn and quick to play rules set for Napoleonics. this is primarily for 6mm possibly 12mm. but there is always the chance it could be used for 28mm by just adjusting the base sizes! I am sure he would be willing to give us both a free copy to play test and show off for him !

I dont know of any plastics for napoleonics cavalry and artillery, but foundry do them, or front rank also stock a wide range too, but would all be metals i am afraid. I am glad I have not wasted my time getting into 28mm napoleonics now. as it apears I may have an oponent after all. www.wargamesfoundry.comwww.frontrank.com

metals is fine . hmm think Ive have to get a move on with painting Ive only got 3 box's of foot. got to get some more now and some rules . just wanted to see if they were any good or if i could get a opponent first. whens the next time your at Bedford games night or are you a member of a club near you . we could meet on a rotate kind of thing once at my club once at yours so its not the one person doing all the traveling all the time .

try these www.wargamesfoundry.com/main.aspor these, www.frontrank.com/index.aspor these.. www.oldgloryuk.comAll of which are lead of course. But to be honest I would think when Victorix do release Artillery they will be lead, Cav may well be plastic however judging by the other new style plastic manufacturers,so waiting may be profitable. It all depends on how quickly you want your army!! Dave

Gentlepersons,
I'm considering buying plastic French and would like to hear opinions about the compatibility or otherwise of Perry/Victrix models. General comments about either/both would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, DaveB.

In my opinion the perry plastics are easier to put together, but you get more minis in the Victorix. so given a choice I wish I had purchased all perry now rather than mostly victorix. that said they go together nicely so you could mix and match manufacturers n your army.

I havent tried the infantry yet but I have been very impressed with the Perry cavalry that I have put together and painted, you do get alot of figures for the money, and many options particularly with the Hussars.
