Another plus side about doing it that way is that we can use the tags for any other game systems we might want to run a ladder league for in the future.

Ok, Dave that sounds great! I shall PM my name and forum name straight away! Edited for typo and a post script: I think the 1000pt limit's a great idea; it's easy to play in an evening, even if randomly determined game length leads to extra turns.

As people know, ( I hope) I have had our tags for this War Without End league for a couple of weeks now. I think it is time to get started! I propose next all dayer ( 8th Nov) to play the the initial placement games. Basicly come along with a 1000 pt force ,remember we have left the faction open, so you could play several armies one after the other! The tags will be drawn out of a hat (or box!) to randomly pair up players. Winners go up one peg, losers stay on the bottom rung. We do this untill we have played everyone or run out of time! Anyone not at the start day will play someone on the bottom rung, the winner of that match goes up a level, if that 2nd level is full, the victor will play someone on the 2nd level, the winner of that match going up to the 3rd, and so on. Eventually everyone will be on the board, and it should have levelled out with people on 2 or 3 of the bottom rows. Dave

As usual I shall be at work until 1pm Sunday, but I will turn up afterwards.
Of course, I don't mind waiting for a game, I have a new boardgame that might keep anyone else waiting occupied too. It's called Formula D and is a car racing themed boardgame with the potential for 1-3 lap races.
Edited for a typo.

Cool, that's something I've been aware of for quite some time, but have never actually played as yet.
