To all 28mm SYW players,
As Black Powder rules are now out, I thought I'd see what interest there is, if any, for trying these rules for SYW. They're heftily priced at £30, so there's no way I'm going to fork out on the off-chance, but if there's enough interest I'd be intrigued to give them a try. I understand they work best for big games on big tables. Might be a good excuse for getting some of the club members' collections out (I'm looking at you Dave and Mark) for a big bash.... or not, as the case may be.

I've heard a lot of things re: Black Powder, and some of it doesn't sound good to me. I think I'll leave it to somebody else to take a £30 punt and then sneak a peak at their copy

I am not planning to buy but may do the same as Mark and look at somebody else's. I will not be re basing any of my SYW armies regardless.
I do have some Swedish dragoons needing a combat debut.

re BP; armies dont need rebasing as you remove units as a whole rather than per model or a.n. other ratio.
very good rules, quick play, and lots of fun.

I may get a copy of BP at Warfare, as I intended to use them for my plastic naps. By the way anyone going to the show? ( which is next weekend) I intend to go on the Sunday. Dave

Warfare at Reading, James. It is a large event, and the last major one of the calendar www.readingwargames.co.uk/warfare.aspAs I said I am intending to go on the Sunday (it is a 2 day weekend event) and am happy to give any club members a lift (help with petrol would be nice!) For those new to the club it would be great for you to get to know all the main shows we either put a game on at, or go as punters, Dave
