I am in the process of constructing my own game, Cataclysm. Think Mad Max/ Fallout and some Surivors(?)/ The Wanderer-books from the 80's and you'll get a good idea what it's about.
Currently I'm done with the skills- and almost all of the combatsystems and most of the character generation. I know how I want the world to function at large but have to write it down (I'm not going into detail, as it's intended for each GM's own taste).
The only thing I actually have to mull over is a possible Barter Point (BP?) system for buying/ trading stuff. Might figure something out eventually.
Looking at a possible Betatest on the 20/7 (long Sunday) and would like some people to take it around for a run and giving feedback. In general you create Attributes and Skills with points, the skills are pretty generalized, ex. Recon includes Stealth, Hide and Camouflage and Firearms is to shoot Shotguns, Rifles, Assault Rifles, Pistols, Crossbows and Revolvers etc.
Though the system is simple (only roll a D10 and add relevant Attribute/ Skill vs. a Target Number) it offers a quick combat resolution (You add any points you scored over TN to the base Damage of the weapon, implying that the more skilled you are, the more dangerous you are), because I quite frankly think that combat should be a dangerous business, and that gives the potential for all weapons to be lethal.
If you're interested, please let me know.
