Mmmmm.... Drooool. Upcoming wild west third person adventure shooter for Xbox 360 and PS3 looks mighty tasty!!! I'm tempted to forego my principles and actually pre-order it on Amazon, will get an otherwise unavailable six-shooter "Golden Gun" with it. Release 27th of April.

Talking of wildwest, but in a steam punk odd victorian horror sci fi kind of way...have you heard of Malifaux? Dave

Yes I have. But it seems weirder than Deadlands that I used to play back in time... The game that the movie Wild Wild West was loosely based on. Cool minis though.
I'll stick to my old west minis (40mm at the moment) and waiting for Red Dead Redemption instead.

I've now played some hours and do really, really enjoy it. Found myself totally derailing from the main plot (still in the beginning stages of that), instead I'm roaming the landscape and poking my head (usually) where it doesn't belong and just doing what I feel for at the moment. The graphics are stunning, the "feel" excellent and the voice acting pretty darn good.
There's so much extra stuff that you CAN do that sometimes I'm spoilt for choices, which is a good thing. Some things you can do include: duelling, hunting, poker playing, horse taming, five finger fillet, bounty hunting and much much more.
The game has its minor glitches (one time there was a hole through my horse and a couple of times I've experienced difficulties getting away after hitching the horse up), but nothing major that I've discovered.
Need to brush up on my horseshoe throwing skills though, I distinctly suck at that .
Laid my hands on a couple of new outfits, which is nice.
