I might have read it wrong, but I'm fairly sure it states that unless you have two of the same "special weapon" you don't going the +1 attack bonus.
Whether that was the intention or not is entirely another matter.
I personally don't think that Tau/Guard gunline armies will advance on the objectives early on. I'd be looking to try and smash your opponent through shooting for the first 4 turns or so, and then go looking for objectives in the last two turns only.
I need to try playing them, but my gut feeling for the scenario's is that I don't like them compared to the previous set. But then I'm not that keen on the direct line of sight rule, or some of the other changes either.

I also have doubts about RLOS in a competitive game, to me it just seems a little pointless. I read Alessio's interview on why he chose it, and having played friendly games I accept their is a cinematic feel to lining up shots, but I'd rather it was an optional house rule for friendly play.
I know I've redesigned my Guard to be a little more mobile as I don't intend to go Mechanised and can't afford to start too far back if I want to dominate objectives. The combination of all the changes certainly seems to encourage positional play but that's only my gut feeling.

Well I've played two games with the new rules and I love em.
Personally I think its alot more streamlined then it was before. Shooting and Combat are more nasty and the game seems a lot more fun.
Considering so many people play objective based FOW I at the club I have thought the new scenarios would fit right in.
I think the general view is that they are trying to make the game more enjoyable all round and remove some of the rules lawyering!

Steve: I checked the rules, if you have a special and normal CC weapon you get +1 attack. Their is a sub-rule stopping this for Power Fists and Lightning Claws.

Yes I rechecked it myself this weekend. I must not have read it quite correctly before.
