I am pleased to announce that for the second year there will be an AT-43 tournament at UK Games Expo in Birmingham. Taking place on Sunday 6th June it will follow the same 1600 point format as last year, but with only 3 rounds (due to the time restrictions). Entry is £8, plus your show entry (£8 Sunday, £13 Saturday & Sunday) – sorry about the costs but I’m limited to what the show organisers want to charge. However I’ll try to make it worthwhile with prizes from both SMG and Rackhams and try to make sure that as many people as possible take something home. Tickets can be purchased here www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/bookevents.php?category=min - get in quick, places are limited and it is only a few weeks away.

If I recall, 1500. However, it's definitely worth checking out the link to confirm and look at the other details.

1600 points (1100/500 split as lst year) - as it says in the original post!
Unfortunatley the show website has still not been updated with the details I sent them - will chase them tonight.
I'm hoping to match last year's numbers (10) so spread the word!

Please also note that the tournament details are now live on the show's website.

Flamers grounding units is not a "Phoenix" ruling.
The rules for flamers clearly state they are indirect fire weapons and for that reason follow the rules for indirect fire. This means they have a template and another model in the same unit can spot for the person with the flamer. The only thing flamers can't do is combine the shots to enlarge the template.
Got my ticket booked and am looking forward to the day.

Flamers are described as projection weapons - they just use the same template as indirect fire which is not the same thing. and the mechanisiam they describe "a jet of flamable droplets" doesnt lend its self to the production of over preasure which is why you get the knocking down effect and why bunkers dont give cover the jet goes through the slit and ignites inside. It also make Red Blok and Karmens over powered as they have much more acess to flamers.

If you take any army book (I have the Red Blok one here) then the weapon profile for the flamers gives them Projection and indirect fire.
Example can be found on page 37 of the RB army book top right of the page has the Spetsnatz kommando information and in the special weapons for the unit the flamer is listed.
Not trying to be an arse about it and if Dave Brown wants to houserule on it for the Expo tournament I won't complain (you lot have always put up with my houserulings).
Just wanted to make it clear that this was not a Phoenix ruling.

Just wanted to make it clear that this was not a Phoenix ruling. I have checked my RB (first printing) and it just says projection looks like rakham have changed somthing in some printings the pdf on the site now just says. .... Flamer: This weapon has the “Projection” ability: • When a unit contains several of these weapons, each of them can pick a different target; • Cover is ignored; • No shooting test is necessary, so there are no successes. (Therefore, shots cannot be combined to increase the area of effect.); • The Accuracy of the weapon shows the weapon’s maximum range in cm, as measured from the special weapon bearer. The template is centered on a fighter. All miniatures located even partially under the area of effect suffer a damage test. ... maybe theer are diferences between the lnaguage versions of teh books given rahckams track record i wouldnt be surprised

To make things clear I've included a specific 'house rule' in the tournament info whereby flamers do not ground units.
