As that was the main reason why I joined up in the first place, it's nice to see the revival of the RPGs ;D
With Maurice doing D&D4, and Chris looking for volunteers for his game(s), I'm putting out my feelers as well.
Due to the ongoing D&D with Maurice and the LOTOW skirmish game, I'm not really in the runnings until January I guess, but if the LOTOW games are not going on the Dec or Jan Long Sunday, I'm up for running either a Post-Holocaust RPG or an X-Files/ Horror type one on those dates. In both games I'm afraid I don't take on more than 5 players. If anyone's interested, drop a line on the forum.

As usual I'm interested in all the Role Playing I can get!
The post-apoc one that we trialed looked pretty good so that would probably be a good bet.
What sort of Horror thingy did you have in mind?

Glad you liked EarthAD Joe, even though we didn't get that far, I was mostly interested to try out the system at that time. However, I have begun to flesh out the parameters of the game now. All are going to start in a Vault, no Mutants allowed I'm afraid. Because that will allow me to let the characters explore and experience the game world for the very first time. And it also provides a very simple and logical reason to why they are/ should be together in a group.
The X-files/ Horror RPG is called Esoterrorists and is, like EarthAD a very simple system. The characters belong to a secret society, Ordo Veritas (The Order of Truth, I believe) and are employed in the shadows by different governments and try to protect mankind from nasty creatures from Beyond etc. It's mostly a detective and scientific system (think CSI, X-Files, NCIS etc.) Normally you don't roll for a skill check, it's mostly enough to possess the skill to succeed, but you may want to spend points to gain extra benefits.

Hmmm they both sound enticing, I'll leave it up to you (and maybe others to decide).
My Fallout 3 has been sadly neglected due to the recent arrival of Gears of War 2, but a little post-apoc roleplaying will probably put me in the mood for it again. Plus I bet you'll crib reasonably extensively from the universe (we would be starting in a Vault after all).

I'll get back later when I know more about when we're actually going to play. If people are available for LOTOW, obviously not then.
I'll get Fallout 3 at the end of the month and will see for myself. I've played all the previous games (Fallout 1&2 and Fallout Tactics) backwards and forwards, so yes, I'll borrow stuff! But also from the Mad Max-movies and certain not-so-good literature from the 80's, but it'll supply me with ideas.
I'm easy, any of them will do me. It's up to people what they want to play.

I'd be interested in playing - more so the horror investigative one than the post apocalyptic but either would be good
Count me in if that's ok
Do I get an extra star for 10 posts on this forum? the suspense.....

I thought after the things members have done in the past for extra stars we had implemented a policy of Dark Ops killings for anyone who brings up the subject? I'll probably skip Roleplay if it's on the Jan long Sunday, It's been a while since I've got a big wargame in

I was thinking to get some RPGing in on the Long Sunday in January (after our regular LOTOW-game I guess, if not, the whole day is available...) and have the following proposal, if someone is interested, maximum of 5 players (Joe and Chris have expressed interest earlier so obviously they bypass the queue... ) As I'm very keen on post-holocaust gaming (Mad Max, Fallout etc.) I'd like to run a game or two. The basics are: - Characters will start out as members of a Vault that's been closed until now, and will be the chosen expedition force. - They will choose their designated position in the Vaults hierarchy, which will determine their starting Skills to a small degree and also which skills they can "max" out. - There will be an option for Psyker, with certain mental qualities. The trade-off is that the character will have fewer skill points. - The system is very easy and point based, shouldn't take more than 10-30 minutes to create a character, even if you don't really know what you want to create! - This way it will give me the total freedom (muahahah!!!) to run the world as I see fit without going through the hassle of having to explain the workings of the world to the players for hours on end before we start. - At the moment I'm sussing out different sites and plan on ordering a few minis when my Christmas pay comes, with a bit of luck I'll have some ready for that Sunday! Or if people are more inclined towars Investigative Horror (X-Files, CSI or such) I've got Esoterrorist for that purpose. - Also a point system where you allocate points to mostly Investigative Skills and other points to General Skills. - Usually you don't have to roll a dice at all for a skill (unless it's General), if you have it you are so proficient that you can't fail, but you can spend points from it to gain extra benefits/ information. - The story won't fail because of a failed Skill roll, but maybe because the players don't utilize their skills properly... - The characters belong to a secret world spanning organisation, Ordo Veritas, and try to thwart the Forces of Evil. - Mostly investigative but with a certain hint of danger and excitement. In both games only D6's are used, easy enough. If you're interested sign yourself up and which game you would like to play, if you're not fuzzed you obviously don't need to specify. The Swede.

Just to confirm that I'm interested. I think I'd slightly prefer the post holocaust thingy, but I'd be happy with either.
