After the success of the 35th Anniversary weekend I was wondering if there would be any support for us organising another two-day event at the club for later in the year. OK, so people didn't really take advantage of the chance to play a game over two days during the 35th weekend, but that was mostly because we didn't want to eat up all the space in case it was needed by other clubs.
Would there be any interest? We could perhaps consider a mini-tournament, or a number of large games.

Mark
I would cautiously welcome another 2-dayer, given enough notice. It would have been good if we could have taken our 7YW game into a second day.

Well, that is what the club is about after all. However we must be aware that the saturday cost us £100, so any 2 dayers must be a very rare event. Perhapse for Xmas? The buffets seem to go down well too! Dave

I would struggle to get free for another whole weekend before Christmas especially as we have Newbury in September. But if it was based on something special, a mini competition or series of linked scenario games or even a mini campaign then would be more appealing to risk some sulks overs

I think such a weekend would be good for trying a full game of Twilight Imperium 3 !! Dave

Sounds good to me; a 2 day game or a mini campaign would be very tempting. If the member numbers were limited would we be prepared to chip in a little more than the usual subs?

Although I like the idea of additional weekend gaming days, I think the cost of a Saturday near guarantees a sizeable loss to the club. For that reason, I'd prefer that if a group wishes to use the room on Sunday, then they agree to share the cost between those who plan to attend.
Given the difference in cost, the idea of additional Sundays is of great interest to me, but I appreciate that this is of little use to those wishing to play two day games.

I would tend to agree with you John. That said, and cash permitting. One a year would be within our budget, maybe. And I am all for giving the members what they want, as long as it is feasable, legal, and affordable !! ;D Dave

This is an excellent idea and should be done - perhaps every 6 months. As Terrance says, perhaps those attending could pay in more for the priveladge - doesnt have to be ahuge contribution. Hoever, we should do weekends - dont be put off by the costs - at the end of the day, that is what the money is for and we do have a huge surplus!
