Yes, all set. I have about 8 infantry brigades of c.50 stands, 4 cavalry regts of c.23 stand, and 4 guns - 1815 British.
Shall we use a 4'x4' table and start off deployed to save time ?

That sounds fine I will dig out some French stands; will you have a chance to make out any labels? I think we will have one or two other interested parties so it may be wise to go a for a 6 x 4 just to give us the space. I will be there just before 8 pm.

OK, I'll set up a 6' x 4' table. suggest we deploy alternate divisions up to 12" in.
All my stuff is labelled up (and even colour-coded !!) for Waterloo. Do you have labels for your French ?

Thanks for the game last night; I dont know what your thoughts are but I think that it is well worth playing using the Age of Eagles rules again. During the short time we played last night I think we learned alot about the rules; the only point of issue seems to be remembering the initiative rolls. At least we now know that you dont charge formed infantry from any distance over 5 inches and formed infantry dont need to form square when cavalry are over 5 inches away.

I enjoyed the game, thanks. More than happy to play again. I'm very much committed to basing my stuff for AoE; plan to be able to re-fight Waterloo eventually.
Also learnt that reserve movement is tough. I deliberately suggested setting up outside of 18 inches so we could use reserve and tactical movement - wasn't expecting it to be that tough, though.
Did you find where it tells you if your troops are 3 rank or 2 rank lines ? I have some ancestral memory that French are 3 rank, but I don't know where I read that - I may be imagining it !
Oh, and being able to charge your cavalry through formed infantry - could have been nasty if I had been a bit closer !

I had another read through last night but couldnt find the answer; but it would make sense for them to be three ranks. I also need to try and find if any corrections for my set of rules have been printed; if you get the oppurtunity could you do me a copy of your cheat sheet; I should hate to miss double points for shooting at a square in any future games.

What about pencilling in another game for the July all-day Sunday ? That'd give me time to paint up a few more units.
