Games Con Leicester

Our good friends in Leicester are organising Gamescon Leicester, on Sun 14th Nov at Leicester Racecource. There are to be tournaments, traders games.....do we want to support this event and put on a display game?

Come on people, we should put a demo on at this new Con....I ( and probably Maurice) will be in the AT 43 tournie however....but we can transport folks and gear!
We can have either a Fantasy/sci fi game, or an historical one.............. Suggestions?

I have already agreed that we should try and support a local event how many people have we got interested in going and what would we like to do?

Seems lik a good idea, this is a games convention though and not a wargames show so a a fantasy would be best. Would take too long to set up for a big PK type game but we could dust off the elves for Pickets charge again or how about a Rorkes drift scenario (we have enough GW buildings now) and could use empire against hordes of Goblins??

If enough people from the club showed an interest, would it be feasable to arrange a minibus to Leicester?

I am interested in helping to put something on. Fantasy-wise I am beginning a big push to get my WHFB stuff finished off, namely 2k each of Bretonnians and Wood Elves and 3k of Khorne Daemons which are nearly done.

I also have 50pts of of Warmachine painted up, but I'm not sure that's the easiest option as more of us are likely to have access to some WHFB minis instead.

I am not sure on a minibus, but I am sure we can organise people into cars....drivers and space permitting!
How about doing the game we did at the 25th anniversary thing.....Empire in Marks castle, and buckets of O&G besieging? it will be a good spectacle! or Elven Gettysburg, that had alot of attention, especially the dragons!

I was chatting with Zoe (organiser for the con) on F b last night and booked us a table big enough for our Elven Gettysburg game so shall we do that? we get 3 comp tickets and further tickets are £6 each ( I am sure the club can pay for other players) I and Maurice are likely to be in the AT43 tournie anyhow.
