Calling all 40k players!
How about a bit of a 40k session this coming All Day Sunday?
Option 1 - There's the traditional 40k or Apocalypse clash of course.
Option 2 - We could try getting through alot of smaller points value games. It means more games and more excitement! It boils down to your last unit doing heroic deeds and performing memorable stunts against all odds to grab victory by the narrowest margins. (Or a glorious draw, these actually exist, I only remembered when I played at 500pts again.)
Not to mention if you have more than one 40k faction (or borrow someone else's) you can try a few factions out on the same day as the games are so much quicker. It's shocking how much fun even just 500pts on a 4'x4' table can be!
Option 3 - We could escalate the points and table size as we go along, starting at 500pts and playing the second game at 1000pts and the last at 2000pts.
Battle Missions - For a bit of Flavour
I have the Battle Missions book so a themed tree campaign would be a doddle. Start with a standard mission from the BRB; win it and you pick one of your own faction missions to play next. If your opponent wins, play the enemy faction's missions. If you draw the game, play another standard mission, or roll off for choice of faction mission.
Edit: For anyone interested in getting a feel for a new faction or just 40k in general, I'll have my Tau, Tyranids and Chaos Daemons minis+codexes along, and some Marines and Orks. The Marines and Orks are a bit of a work in progress (being the Assault on Black Reach minis).
