OK - here are some more details of the tournament.
As mentioned earlier. The tournament will be 1500 pts, Late War. All currently published army books will be allowed, as will official Battlefront pdf files.
Players will be expected to submit one valid 1500 pt list for use in all games.
Players will be split into two leagues. One containing all the Axis players the other the Allies. Each Axis player will play two games against each Allied player, one as the attacker and one as the defender. Scenarios to be played will be randomly determined by the Organiser prior to any of the games being played. Please note: The normal rules for selecting who attacks in a given scenario will be ignored.
The scenarios we will use are as follows;
Free for All
Encounter
Hold the line
Fighting Withdrawl
Breakthrough
All games will be scored using the "Fair Fight" (FOW rulebook page 195) rules even if the given scenario does not normally use that rule. In addition players will also score 0.1 VP for each enemy platoon destroyed. This is to help give us a potential tie-breaker.
All armies are expected to be painted and properly based. 1 VP will be deducted for each platoon which contains an unpainted or unbased miniature each time it is used.
After all games have been played their will be an Axis champion and an Allied champion. They will play off for the overall title using the Free for all mission. The player with the better league record will choose to play as the attacker or defender in the final.
Deadline for army lists is Monday 18th August. With a view to starting the games no later than Monday 1st September.
I would appreciate it if players would indicate their intention to play and the faction they will be using (simply Axis or Allied will do) by posting a reply to this thread. This is to get a feel for how many of each we have. I have already written out two army lists for myself, one for each faction. I will use the one which best balances the leagues, or the Allied one if we have an odd number of players.
