I can make it over to the club tonight, and wondered if anyone would be interested in giving me a game of Warmachine? I've got a small Cygnar force but haven't ever played mk2 (and have tried mk1 twice). I don't mind learning at the school of hard knocks though ;D
I know it's late notice, but if you are up for a game then please let me know on here. I probably won't come over unless I've got a game (it is an hour after all) so I'd hate someone to turn up and wonder why I didn't!
Cheers, John G

I'm kicking myself for not having seen this post in time to organise a game, John! I'd be glad of a game of Warmachine whenever you have time in future.

No problems Mike.
I'm probably coming over next Monday. I see you're itching for a chance to try out your Wood Elves, but if you don't find a match let me know and I could give you a game then.

I think you just talked yourself into a game of Warmachine, if you are still interested John! I'd be glad to get a game of Warmachine in and since nobody has replied regarding WHFB I've gone ahead and deleted that thread.
I could field anything from a starter set up to 50pts. I got a bit confused with all the options on the battlefield at the higher points values though. I had more units than I knew what to do with. I generally resorted to throwing stuff with my warjacks (usually melee combatants) when in doubt.
I'll be fielding Retribution of Scyrah, the new faction for MkII. As a heads up the caster I use ignores LOS rules if she casts the spell to let her do so. Her two "troops" units also get a sergeant type character each which give the units the same ability automatically. The range on their crossbows and the caster's runebolt cannon is 12".

Great I'd rather keep the army size reasonably small (and maybe play a couple of games if there's time) until I've got to grips with the rules. How about 15 or 25 points? And don't worry about sneaky abilities, I'll be trying to pull one over on you, it's only fair you can do the same (though I might spend a lot of time looking at your cards). See you Monday. John

Sounds great, see you Monday. I'll prepare lists for both points limits. Edit: By the way, in case it's of use and you haven't found the site already, here's a helpful online list building tool, which includes the narrative tiered army lists' restrictions and bonuses as well: www.forwardkommander.com/

Thanks for the link Mike, and the very enjoyable couple of games. I've been using iBodger on my phone to create lists so far and it seems pretty good. The games have certainly made me want to play Warmachine more

Thanks for a great evening's gaming, I'm glad you enjoyed Warmachine. It usually seems to generate exciting games that go down to the wire, but getting two games into an evening surely ranks as one of its benefits as well.
