Thanks for giving me a heads up about the Force on Force system Dave, The copy of the rule book I ordered arrived today. I must say this hardback full colour book is very well put together. The scenario driven rules which eschew a points system altogether look great.
What scale minis are people going for generally for this system? I have been looking into 28mm/1:48 or 20mm/1:72 scale minis so far.

Currently I have some Arab Israili stuff from ages ago, so 20mm Platoon 20 minis and Airfix/skytrex tanks. But obviously, if another theater is used, such as Vietnam, or Iraq, you could use a diferent scale. Empress do some lovely 28's for moderns. Or battlefront for Vietnam minis in 15mm.

Yes this Monday will see the clash of the titans on the Golan Heights 1973!
Will the IDF be able to hold the massive armoured thrust by the Syrian Army?
It will be a close run thing so be there to see the action!

I'll bring in the Force On Force rulebook as well - it might come in handy for you guys to have another copy floating around the table. Edit: Having just got back home after the game, I'd like to say thanks to Dave and Steven for putting on a great game tonight, and making room for a few more players around the table. It was a fun introduction to Force on Force with plenty of action - though I'm afraid I led my tank crews to disaster in both scenarios! I am really looking forward to getting some minis sorted for this now!

It looks as if we unwittingly had a Memorial Day game into the bargain yesterday. (Memorial Day info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memorial_day) July 4 falls on a Monday as well this year, perhaps we could have a game with US forces in action?

Brilliant Dave, thanks for posting the link. With all the places available for 20mm minis it can be hard to see the wood for the trees! The minis look great, and the price is definitely right as well.
