I've not heard anything from Maurice or Stephen so far. We'll have to delay beyond the 18th if I haven't heard anything by this evening. I'm on holiday next week so won't have time to prep if I can't start tomorrow.

John. I'm happy to start on the 18th.
I should be able to re-jig my character so he's not levelled up. But I'm going to need access to someones book to do it as I don't have the Deathwatch book myself.

Thanks for posting Stephen. I'd happily let you use my book but I won't be able to make it over until the Sunday before. I will be running/playing in a multiplayer WFB game on the Sunday 17th though so you're welcome to use it then if you're there and you haven't been able to get one since.
If everyone could let me know the chapter & marine type they will be using, and what their 'typical' loadout would be that would be great (stick around 30 Requisition and you won't be far off). That way we can hopefully keep the time spent 'planning' down during the first session, and maximise face kicking opportunities.
Finally, if anyone does decide to do their character on an eletronic character sheet it would be great if you could send them to me. I'm happy to print them out if needed. The main reason it would be good if I can see them is I can tailor the situations to the kill team and your skills more easily.

Unfortunately I can't make the 17th Sunday as I'm going to be at the festival of History that weekend. I guess I'll have to alter my character on the Monday before we start play.
I'm playing a Librarian from the Ghost Tigers chapter. I'm using the Space Wolf rules, but the fluff is different.
I'm not sure about loadout, as I thought anything over the basic equipment had to be purchased with experience points. My character as originally designed had a Bolt Pistol and Force Sword as these come as standard, and had a personal Storm Bolter. But if we're not doing levelled up characters that might have to go.

You can have your own 'signature' equipment, which effectively you buy with experience. However, normally you'll arm up based on requisition points which the DM gives players at the start of each mission. I was suggesting that players set a 'standard' loadout as that should avoid the first hour of the session just being shopping for weapons.
A storm bolter is something like 20 Requisition which would be fine BUT requires you to have enough renown to be 'respected'. I'm happy to let you have one if you're willing to have it as your only non-basic item?

As I am playing a Fleshtearers assault marine a bog standard pair of chainswords will do nicely. And some grenades.

I haven't hard anything from Maurice about Deathwatch or the 18th yet so I'll plan the first session based on 3 players. Obviously Maurice or anyone else who is interested is welcome to join in afterwards.
I'm expecting to run ~4-7 sessions in total as a campaign. In order to have time to prep, I'll need 2+ weeks between each one (creating enemies in DW is quite time consuming). Below is a list of club Mondays, can people highlight which of these they can/can't do? Hopefully we can confirm dates for the next couple of sessions.
1st August 8th August 15th August 22nd August 29th August

Hi all,
Just to confirm: I'll be down on Monday 18th (day after tomorrow) and am intending to run the first session then. I'll bring scenarios based on 3 & 4 players so if everyone inc Maurice can make it then all are welcome.

Thank you all for taking part last night. I thought it was a reasonably succesful first run; things will speed up once we've got cheat sheets, know the rules and I'll streamline the adversaries a little.
The session finished as you brought the last of the 'heretics' down. Lago (Maurice) mercifully spared one of the enemies, gifting him with only a few broken ribs and a little internal bleeding. Around 10 minutes after your drop pod hit the earth you've got 52 kills to your names. We'll kick off the next session directly where we left off. The next date is the 1st of August.
