As discussed, I'll be running a one off session of the table top role-play game "Hollow Earth Expedition" on Sunday 9th. ;D
I've had interest from Stephen, John, Maurice, Mike and Stu - could I ask you to confirm you can make it? The game should take up to 5 players so if you can't then they'll be spots free for others. I'd like to start as early as possible on Sunday - what time does the hall open?
It's a pulp adventure system - think Indiana Jones / Lost World / Journey to the centre of the earth. There should be little in the way of moral dilemma and a lot of action - the goodies may be rough round the edges but they are good. The baddies are definitely bad!
I'll write up a variety of characters and you can pick one on the day. If you'd like to create your own let me know (Stephen - I know you want to - I'll bring the book down tomorrow). Here's some scene setting for you:
Extract from the Oxford Chronicle - October 15th 1935
Film star checks into mental asylum
The chronicle has learned that Lord Douglas Lockhart, the film actor famous for his rugged charm and handsome good looks has checked himself into a psychiatric hospital under the provisions of the Mental Health Act 1930. His mental health has long been in question following his disastrous self funded feature film "The Lost City" which was panned by critics and audiences alike. His wife, screen goddess, Amanda Lockhart, says that he is as well as can be expected and would like to thank his many admirers for their kind letters of support in these troubling times.
For Lady Lockhart this could not come at a worse time as she has announced the sale of the Lockhart mansion and its many valuable contents as she attempts to pay off her husband's debts. The first auction is to be held at their Oxfordshire estate next saturday. This will showcase some of Lockhart's extensive antique and curio collection with which he has become increasingly obsessed in recent years. The chronicle will of course be present as it is expected to attract many high profile celebrities of our time!
