Hello,
I'm looking for a gentle, patient sort to ease me into the game of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. I have a (almost completely unpainted, and probably not very good) 2400 point lizardman army, and if anybody is up for showing a complete noob the ropes, I'd be very grateful.
I do have the army book, and rule book and think I understand both!
I appreciate this kind of thing is probably better done down at the GW, so if nobody's keen, no worries.

I'll give you a game Graham, I've had a few games of WHFB already and have a handle on the rules but am still learning the skill of playing well.
I'm up for an evening spent poking around the rulebook and pushing some minis about in hypothetical situations if needed. I can field some unpainted Bretonnians (lots of cavalry, a horde of peasants and a Damsel, maybe with a Lord on Hippogryph if he fits in 2400pts).

Sounds good, mike - see you on monday.
(I've got saurus warriors, some skinks, a frog of doom and his guardians, some cavalry, a stegadon+shrine and a couple of heroes).

what is a "frog of doom"? Is it perhaps the fantasy equivalent of a "bull dog chewing on a wasp". AKA Typical Rushden woman. Janice Battersby in Coronation Street, Pat Butcher in Eastenders etc?

This exchange made me think of a movie scene we probably all know, so I just tweaked the dialogue a bit:
Dave: Who? Steven: Well, you know the soaps on TV? Dave: I don't watch TV soaps. Steven: Yes, but you're aware that there's an invention called television, and on that invention they show soap series? Dave: Yeah. Steven: Well, Janice and her amigas are some of the more characterful looking ladies who star in these soaps.
- Apologies to Quentin Tarantino and Pulp Fiction fans!
Graeme, I shall see you on Monday for 2400pts of WHFB. Apologies for spelling your name wrong, by the way!
