I know this might be abit early, but...
I was wondering whether someone could tell me when this is planned for?
I am/will be looking for a decent sized 40K or Apocalypse game, something in the region of 6,000 points should be ok for the afternoon. I have my new Dark Angels that I would like to feild all together.
Thanks, Michael

I'm free, but I don't know how many points we're talking about... if I use all my Imperial forces I can probably muster around 6k, but then that is a bit blue-on-blue, which is always a shame.
Alternatively, I could bring some strange unholy alliance of Chaos Space Marines, Tyranids and Necrons which would also muster about 6k, but would be a bit of a headscratcher as to why they aren't trying to kill each other.
I also don't know any special rules that might be used for Apocalypse.
If you'd rather just get some 'normal' 40k games in, I'm well up for that!

Cool I am just trying to get all my Dark Angels on the table at once. The story behind it could be written becasue of the Dark Angels... We do what we can for our own motives. To that end I do not mind so much playing imperial on imperial as the Dark Angels have been known to attack fellow chapters to recapture one the fallen With points, would 5k be better? I think it best to ignore the apocalypse but I do like spearhead as they allow us to play models together. Check out this page www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1570287a_Spearhead_Expansion.pdfYou will need to sign up to the games workshop website. Michael

Coolios, 5k sounds good. I'll bring along a combined imperial force then, using the Spearhead rules (which I'm sure I have in an old WD somewhere).
Am I correct in thinking that this takes place at the usual venue (Bedford North End WMC)?

Yeah, it is at the north end club. around 12 should do us with plenty of time to set up and play
does give me an excuse to buy the new space marine skimmer :-).
Think I will play the Skyfall Spearhead using my land speeders or the Outrider spearhead. not sure yet
Do you want to put a cap on it, or does anything go (as long as you have the rules for it)? I do have a baneblade I have never used....

I was thinking the same thing about the skimmer, for all that it does look ridiculous with that giant assault cannon hanging off the front!. I thought you played DA though... it's currently vanilla-only IIRC. I don't mind if you want to bring the baneblade as a superheavy spearhead. Have never seen one used in anger so it should be amusing (until the third time I have to pick up an entire unit of marines from the table )

Will see my points before deciding on the super heavy. I have played apoc against a marine chapter before (10k points) I took great pleasure using a spearheaded to destroy his baneblade.
On a similar note the new marine skimmer, the stormtalon, is only vanilla. But I do like the model, plus with assault cannons and heavy bolter does fit the them of my army.

Quick question; are we going by normal force organisation? I wont be able to do a 5k list if we do
Currently I have 10 troop choices!!
I reckon we ignore the maximum requirements of the force organisation chart. What do you think?

Yeah, I think we'll have to ignore it - I'm running two different armies after all, so I don't know how I'd do that and stick to the force org. It's only a Sunday afternoon thing anyhow - no need to take it too far into the realms of srs bsns :-) I bought a stormtalon yesterday and assembled it last night. Actually looks a bit less daft in real life, but the assault cannons really are just obviously too big. Assembled mine with lascannons - was tempted by the typhoon missile launcher, but thought the laser barrels added a bit of much-needed length to the model. Edited to add, here it is:

very nice
Thinking a second one like that but lascannons dont really fit the theme of my army. I have only got a couple of them in a 5k list
