40k player - first time ;)

Hi,

I wasn't too sure where to post for it, figured this was the best section. I noticed your club was near where I live and thought id check and see if there are any 40k players who might be up for some games sometime? I understand your club days are mondays and some sundays?

Just wondering if someones up for a game if you guys do 40k and just to meet a few other people into table top war gaming.

I play imperial guard and I am not the best painter in the world to boot I do also have a friend who would like to come down too at some point he plays tau currently.

There's a 40k contingent at the club, definitely. I'd be well up for having a game some time and I'm sure others would be too.

Are you planning on coming down this Monday (25th)? I can offer you a 1500-point game, if that suits?

Monday is a possibility! I will check with my friend and see if he can make it on that day too, would be nice to come along play a game or two and chat around etc.

1500 seems fine to me, his army is mostly in tatters due to a certain 2 year old getting hold of some models but he doesnt mind tagging along doing some painting etc.

Just spoke to my mate, he says its about time to get his army sorted lol. Should be fine for monday. probably get there for around that time. I take it theres room at the club for painting etc? Also I imagine we would need entry money etc is that correct?

People don't tend to paint much from what I've seen. Dunno if there's any rules about it, but I imagine the working men's club would be a bit miffed if you got mithril silver all over their furniture? Not sure.

There's a memebership fee, and then a subs fee each night... I'm not 100% of the details on that either, unfortunately. I'm sure one of the committee chaps will be happy to take you through it in person!

Thats cool, if theres no painting its not an issue my friends armys pretty low on points since the toddlers rampage. but im sure we can do a skirmish or two with them. Not to mention I will bring all my stuff so we can have a good old 1500 mash up reminds me I must dust off that old program for forming your army points. Got a little Epc thing so will use that to get my army list done.

Quick answer here - no painting please - we do not own the club and as has been said, the North End Club wouldnt be too happy about this.

Subs - your first week of attendance is free. If you Join us your annual membership is £6 i believe although as our membership runs from March to March, this will be a tiny amount for this subscription year. Weekly fee is £2 for waged, £1 for retired / unwaged etc.

Graeme is it ok with we schedule the game for another day? Tonight it turns out is the worst day to do it as its my dads birthday. (As it turns out im rubbish with remembering birth days) Hes 65 today! So i've been roped into taking him out for a meal.

Infact whens the next sunday the club operates as sundays probably the best day for me.

Just getting ready to go out. Thats cool I can do some mondays so I will check when both my friend and I can make it and see If can arrange a Monday game with you at some point as well as going to a sunday club meet so I can get a few games in. thanks for the replies.
